POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Service Technician is a critical member of our installation team. This is a field-based, customer-facing role that is responsible for installing SpectrumVoIP's equipment at our customer sites. The Field Service Technician will travel daily to client sites to perform installations, maintenance, and support services. This role requires regular physical activity, including climbing ladders, pulling and routing cabling, and lifting or moving equipment weighing between 10 and 50 pounds. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service skills, professionalism in client-facing environments, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This position is located in Sacramento, CA area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Interact with customers as the front line of the company
  • Ethernet cabling installation and termination
  • Installation of VoIP hardware including phones and analog gateways
  • Installation of paging equipment
  • Installation or reconfiguration of network routers, firewalls, and peripherals.
  • Installation of door phone equipment.
  • Installation of Camera Systems.
  • Inventory Management Software-Manage inventory of equipment
  • Providing general product and service training to new customers.
  • Follow safety guidelines for the area and all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of company vehicle

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Understanding of ISP circuits and modems (Cable, DSL, T1, FIOS, etc.)
  • Structured network cabling experience
  • Working with analog POTS services on 66 and 110 blocks
  • Ability to follow detailed installation documentation
  • Ability to document all of your work and notating outstanding items.
  • Ability to troubleshoot networked office systems e.g. scanners, printers, DVR's, cameras, etc.
  • Strong communication skills and must be a team player
  • Must be organized, self-sufficient and capable of working with little or no supervision
  • Must be able to understand computer networking and network configurations

SALARY
  • $75,000-$85,000 / year.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Technical training or degree
  • 4+ years' experience as a field service technician servicing commercial segments
  • Must have valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no moving violations
  • Familiarity with Mikrotik and Cisco routing/switching equipment a plus
  • Working with analog POTS services on 66 and 110 blocks
  • Must be physically able and comfortable with climbing ladders up to 12ft
  • Able to distinguish all colors
  • Related certifications a plus: CCNA, N+, A+, BISCI, etc.
  • The ability to travel, which may include overnight / weekend travel, is required.
  • The ability to run CAT5e cable as well as terminate to CAT5e Jack, Patch Panel or crimp a mod end and test and troubleshooting cabling.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and adapt to changing work conditions.
  • May be required to get a Security License for the installation of camera systems.
