Job Description
This is a fully remote Project Manager II role supporting QBL and the conversion of accounting firms to QuickBooks. The PM II will meet with accounting firms that are converting to QBL to understand their current systems, and will need to understand data and build reports around converting accounting teams to QuickBooks. This role requires an accounting background, ideally with QuickBooks experience, along with the ability to work proactively, independently, and cross-functionally.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead complex, cross-functional projects/programs across all phases of planning, implementation, and migration.
- Create, optimize, and drive schedules and project plans across cross-functional teams and partners.
- Meet with accounting firms converting to QBL to understand their current systems.
- Understand data and build reports around converting accounting teams to QuickBooks.
- Anticipate, recognize, and work through resistance or setbacks; work well with others when conflicts arise; ensure alignment with objectives and ensure the project is on schedule.
- Effectively execute fundamental project/program management tasks including issue and risk management, building structured cross-group schedules, meeting arrangements, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communicating overall project status.
- Connect all of the pieces of the initiative by thinking end-to-end, while leveraging all available assets to solve problems and create value for both the short and long term.
- Clearly and concisely communicate plans, status, issues, risks, and requirements to appropriate audiences.
- Contribute to improvements in program/project management processes and operating mechanisms to continuously improve the team's ability to deliver value.
- Support the team's transition from Smartsheets to Certinia.
Required Experience/Skills
- Exceptional planner who is highly organized with attention to detail, self-directed, efficient, and able to manage complex programs and multiple priorities in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of the risk assessment process and a capability to execute remediation plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey the appropriate level of information concisely given the subject and audience; able to communicate equally well with technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to operate with minimal supervision/direction, and drive process using indirect authority.
- Demonstrated skills in building effective relationships and influencing at all levels.
- Sales and/or Accounting background.
- Accounting background, ideally with QuickBooks experience.
- Proactive and able to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Smartsheets, and Google Docs/Sheets.
- Experience with project management software (any kind or type).
- 3+ years of experience in Project/Program Management.
Education
- Project Management Certification preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
