Remote Case Study information

What is a remote case study?

A Remote Case Study is a research or investigative project conducted entirely online or at a distance, without the need for in-person interactions. It typically involves collecting, analyzing, and presenting data about a particular subject, organization, or process using digital tools and remote communication. These case studies are commonly used in academic, business, and consulting settings to explore problems, test theories, or share best practices. Remote case studies offer flexibility in participation and allow for broader geographic reach, making them valuable in today's increasingly digital world.

How do professionals conducting remote case studies typically manage collaboration and communication with team members and clients?

Professionals working on remote case studies often rely on a suite of digital collaboration tools, such as video conferencing platforms, project management software, and cloud-based document sharing, to facilitate effective teamwork. Clear communication is key, so regular virtual meetings and detailed progress updates are common practices to ensure everyone stays aligned. Additionally, setting clear expectations around deadlines and deliverables helps maintain accountability, even when team members are in different locations or time zones. This remote setup can enhance flexibility, but it also requires strong self-management and proactive communication skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote case study specialist, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Case Study Specialist, you need strong research, analytical, and writing skills, often supported by a degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Familiarity with collaboration tools (like Zoom, Slack, or Trello), CRM systems, and document editing platforms is typically required. Outstanding communication, attention to detail, and time management are vital soft skills for engaging stakeholders and delivering high-quality case studies on schedule. These abilities ensure thorough, compelling case studies that effectively showcase results and support organizational goals in a remote work environment.

Job description

Description
Rankings.io is a legal marketing agency for elite firms. We are the award-winning team that markets Rankings.io to potential clients. This role builds a lifecycle email engine from the ground up. You'll turn communication with the country's leading legal firms into a steady, measurable source of booked sales calls.
You will have total narrative ownership of the customer journey, including copywriting, email campaigns, reporting, testing, and optimization across candidate and client journeys, driving engagement and pipeline growth in Hubspot. Strong analytical, communication, and collaborative skills are essential.
The role sits in a lean, fast-moving marketing team, reporting to the Director of Marketing and collaborating with sales, media, events, and content teams.
Responsibilities
  • Own the lifecycle email program end to end: strategy, architecture, copy, and results.
  • Map and optimize the buyer journey that turns managing partners and legal executives into clients.
  • Build multi-stage nurture flows, webinar invite loops, and case study sequences in HubSpot for long, high-consideration sales cycles, and re-engage leads going cold in the database.
  • Write the direct-response copy yourself, tailored across practice areas: sequences, subject lines, offers, landing pages.
  • Own deliverability and domain reputation, from authentication and subdomain strategy to list hygiene and inbox placement at firms with strict IT filtering.
  • Run a continuous A/B testing roadmap and report against booked demos, cost per acquisition, SQLs, and pipeline velocity.
Requirements
  • A portfolio of direct-response B2B email copy you wrote, which we will read closely
  • 3+ years building and running B2B email marketing and automation programs
  • Hands-on experience in HubSpot or a comparable enterprise automation platform, building workflows yourself rather than requesting them
  • Working command of email deliverability: authentication, list hygiene, sender reputation, and CAN-SPAM
  • Fluency with segmentation, behavioral triggers, and A/B testing
  • Excellent written English and full overlap with US business hours

Preferred
  • Legal marketing, or another high-consideration, high-ticket service category
  • A feel for how personal injury firms actually make money: cost per signed case, intake conversion, referral relationships
  • Marketo, Salesforce, or ActiveCampaign alongside HubSpot
  • LinkedIn automation or SMS as part of a coordinated sequence
  • AI already woven into how you work day to day
Benefits
  • Starting Salary of $85,000
  • Fully Remote
  • Unlimited PTO
  • $100 Wellness Reimbursement Program
  • Quarterly training stipend for Professional Development
  • 401(k) with 3% Employer match (Safe Harbor)
  • 100% Employer-Paid Health Insurance (For Employee)
What to Expect in the Interview Process
  1. Human Resume Review: Your resume will be reviewed by our Talent Acquisition team.
  2. One-Way Video Interview: Selected candidates will be sent a link to complete a one-way video interview. Please plan to record in your typical work-from-home environment, ensuring it is well-lit and free of distractions.
  3. Skills Assessment: A short email writing and campaign logic exercise. Plan for 60 to 90 minutes. Use AI however you normally would, as long as you can explain your choices.
  4. Live Zoom Interview: Candidates who move forward will meet with Talent Acquisition and the Hiring Managers for a live Zoom interview to discuss experience, role expectations, and team fit.
