Duties
Help

• Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose behavioral health interventions.
• Provide evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches.
• Provide primary care providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, to include recommendatons for team-based care.
• Implement psychoeducational classes to target high frequency diagnoses found in the primary care clinic.
• Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters
• Collect bio-psychosocial information about patients using interview, case history, observation techniques, and assessment methods.
• Provide a comprehensive range of complex clinical mental health care to individuals severely impacted by moderate to severe psychiatric diagnoses.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness and make adjustments to patient's treatment plans as appropriate.
• Provides limited case management to improve individual family and occupational functioning and mitigate crises.

• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
• This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
• This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
• This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Social Worker:
Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted independent Social Work clinical licensure from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.
AND
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, conducting behavioral health assessments; providing individual and group treatment and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work preformed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Education
