What is a remote carbon developer?

A Remote Carbon Developer is a professional who designs, develops, and implements software solutions or digital platforms to help measure, track, and reduce carbon emissions for organizations. They typically work remotely, collaborating with teams to build tools that support sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, or emission reduction strategies. This role often requires knowledge of environmental data, APIs, cloud platforms, and relevant programming languages. By working remotely, Carbon Developers can contribute to global sustainability efforts regardless of location, helping companies achieve their climate goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote carbon developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Carbon Developer, you need a deep understanding of carbon markets, environmental science, and project management, often supported by relevant degrees or certifications such as a PMP or carbon accounting credentials. Familiarity with carbon accounting software, GIS tools, and standards like Verra or Gold Standard is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are crucial for collaborating remotely with stakeholders and ensuring project compliance. These skills enable accurate carbon project development, successful certification, and the effective delivery of climate solutions in a remote work environment.

What are the typical challenges faced by remote carbon developers when working with international project teams?

Remote Carbon Developers often collaborate with international teams across different time zones, which can make real-time communication and project coordination challenging. Job description

Work arrangement: Remote / U.S.-based; job-board anchor: Houston, TX 77002Opportunity: Contingent specialist role supporting Axyde's proposal for USTDA 1131PL26R0056Mobilization: Potential Regional Asia travel within 20 calendar days after Axyde's written notice following award
Role purpose
Evaluate whether emerging hydrogen, biofuel and industrial-decarbonization concepts have coherent feedstock, process, infrastructure, market, safety and economics-and design the work needed to reach a decision.
Representative problems this role must solve
  • A concept depends on optimistic power, water, biomass, CO2, feedstock, yield, utilization or product-price assumptions.
  • Technology readiness, integration, hazardous-material, transport, storage, certification or offtake requirements are unresolved.
  • The sponsor needs a staged test, demonstration, pre-feasibility or feasibility plan rather than an undifferentiated full-scale study.

Responsibilities
  • Assess process configuration, mass/energy balance, feedstock, utilities, product specifications, scale-up, infrastructure and technology readiness.
  • Evaluate safety, emissions, carbon-accounting/certification, logistics, storage, offtake, supplier and operating requirements.
  • Develop or challenge CAPEX/OPEX, efficiency, utilization, lifecycle-carbon and sensitivity assumptions in coordination with finance specialists.
  • Define staged study, pilot, testing, engineering and commercialization TOR tasks with decision gates and fallback pathways.

Minimum evidence-based qualifications
  • Direct hydrogen, ammonia/e-fuels, biofuels, carbon capture/utilization, electrified industrial process or related decarbonization-project experience.
  • Evidence of personally producing or reviewing process design, feasibility, demonstration, scale-up, safety, cost or investment decision products.
  • Experience in emerging markets, export projects or hard-to-abate industrial sectors is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated senior/expert judgment, normally supported by at least 10 years of directly relevant work and specific project or decision-product evidence.
  • Ability to separate verified facts, assumptions, professional judgments, uncertainties and recommendations in concise written English.
  • U.S. citizen or non-U.S. citizen lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States; written attestation is required before proposal inclusion.
  • Ability to become available for potential Regional Asia travel within 20 calendar days after Axyde's written mobilization notice following contract award, subject to assignment needs and Government direction.
  • Willingness to disclose availability, employment/contract restrictions, confidentiality obligations, conflicts, noncompetes and country/customer limitations.

Evidence to submit
  • Current resume or CV with dates, employer/client, country, project stage, personal role, methods used, decision product and outcome for the most relevant assignments.
  • Two to four representative projects that substantiate the specific expertise claimed; identify what you personally did rather than the team's general scope.
  • Countries/regions worked, languages used professionally, current location, travel limitations and relevant licenses, registrations, certifications, standards or publications.
  • Written permission for Axyde to use and evidence-preservingly reformat the resume for solicitation 1131PL26R0056, subject to final resume review if requested.

Application questions
  • Are you a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident? State one; do not upload identity documents at the application stage.
  • May Axyde use your name and evidence-preservingly tailor/reformat your resume for this specific contingent proposal?
  • Could you become available for required Regional Asia travel within 20 calendar days after Axyde's written mobilization notice following contract award? Identify restrictions.
  • Identify current employment, contractual, confidentiality, noncompete, customer, country or conflict restrictions relevant to this opportunity.
  • Describe a project where feedstock, process, scale-up, safety or market evidence changed the development decision.
  • Identify the technologies, process tools, standards, products and project stages you have directly supported.
  • Which modules can you lead: process, feedstock, utilities, safety, carbon accounting, logistics, cost, commercialization or independent review?

Important contingent-opportunity notice
This posting supports Axyde Analytics, LLC's competitive proposal for U.S. Trade and Development Agency solicitation 1131PL26R0056 and is not an offer or guarantee of employment, independent-contractor engagement, contract award, assignment, hours, travel or compensation. Any role remains contingent on Axyde receiving an award, the Government's actual assignment needs, final role alignment, verified eligibility and qualifications, availability, absence or mitigation of conflicts, mutually agreed compensation and execution of appropriate engagement documentation. Candidate rate requests are collected separately, if requested later, and do not determine Axyde's proposal pricing. Do not submit passports, green cards, Social Security numbers, export-controlled information, customer-proprietary material or third-party confidential information with the initial application. Axyde will request only the written confirmations and secure evidence needed for proposal release and lawful engagement.
Axyde Analytics, LLC considers qualified candidates without regard to protected status and evaluates applicants against the evidence and operational requirements of the contingent role.
