Your role as a Mental Health Counselor involves a variety of essential tasks, including:

• Conducting a diverse range of therapy sessions—both virtual and occasionally in-office—catering to individuals, couples, families, and groups based on client needs.
• Employing evidence-based therapeutic practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques, customizing approaches for each unique patient situation.
• Staying updated with the latest advancements in psychotherapy and integrating new research findings into clinical practice to enhance treatment efficacy.
• Documenting therapy sessions meticulously, maintaining comprehensive client records, treatment plans, and progress notes while upholding confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure integrated care that addresses both mental and physical health needs.

The ideal candidate will work primarily with cancer patients, navigating through their treatment processes including diagnosis, survival, and end-of-life care. This population requires specialized understanding and sensitivity, as counselors provide emotional support not only to individuals but also to their families throughout their unique journeys.

To qualify for this vital role, candidates should possess:

• A Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related field.
• Active licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW) as required by state regulations.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with a diverse healthcare team within an outpatient mental health setting.
• Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, enabling effective interactions with clients and staff.
• A clean professional history with no Medical Malpractice Claims verified by a third party.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
