Job Title: Engineering Technician

3rd Eye is disrupting the traditional Fleet Safety Video Monitoring and Telematics industries with leading high-quality media and reliable digital delivery. Our services are engineered for high availability, maximum reach, and cost savings for our customers. Fleet managers can watch live streams or review safety events instantly, from any device, to monitor their vehicle fleet. Our technology is the cornerstone of our industry and our customers use it to improve their fleet safety, operational, and maintenance performance.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this position is the design and field validation of electrical and camera systems and components for on/off-highway vocational mobile equipment. The creation of project timelines, scope of work documents, and work instructions are key aspects of the job. Additional responsibilities include working with suppliers to make electrical system component selections, developing, and maintaining software for PLCs/Controllers, Camera Systems, and assisting production/field techs with electrical system diagnostics are all duties of the position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics of varying complexities.
  • Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers, distributors, and salespersons.
  • Reduce system level customer requirements to electrical specifications and requirements.
  • Coordinate design validation testing at component, subsystem, and system level.
  • Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, deliverables, and quality plans.
  • Development of work instructions to assist field techs with installation.
  • Be able to travel up to 50-60% of time, work overtime and weekends on an as needed basis.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in applicable work environment required.
  • Experience required with electrical systems and repairs of on road/off road vehicles or equipment. Examples are heavy truck, agricultural, mining, paving, sweeper, fire, ambulace.
  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)/Controller software experience. This is a Plus but not required.
  • Circuit design experience with electromechanical components. This is a Plus but not required.
  • Mobile equipment harness design. This is a Plus but not required.
  • Experience with vehicle mounted camera and recording systems. This is a Plus but not required.
