Healthcare Call Center Representative
Fully Remote | Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (3-4 month contract through Medix)
Pay Rate: $16.80/hour
Start Dates: August 3rd & September 14th
Location: Fully Remote
About the Role
We are seeking a Remote Healthcare Call Center Representative to join a Patient Access team supporting patients with appointment scheduling and general healthcare inquiries. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume call center environment.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates who enjoy helping others, have healthcare customer service experience, and are comfortable working independently in a structured remote setting.
Responsibilities
  • Handle 40-80+ inbound patient calls daily in a high-volume contact center environment
  • Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments accurately
  • Assist patients with general questions and provide clear, professional support
  • Route calls appropriately to specialty departments or additional resources
  • Utilize Epic EMR to complete appointment scheduling and documentation
  • Follow established scheduling procedures, workflows, and quality standards
  • Maintain performance metrics related to call quality, accuracy, and productivity
  • Participate in coaching sessions, feedback discussions, and quality assurance reviews

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (proof required)
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage a high volume of calls while maintaining accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly encouraged
  • Previous healthcare scheduling or patient access experience
  • Experience working with Epic EMR
  • Prior call center experience

Training Requirements
  • 4 weeks of mandatory training
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST
  • No time off permitted during training
  • Camera must remain on during training sessions
  • Supervised call handling begins during Week 3
  • Ongoing coaching and quality reviews continue after training completion

Post-Training Schedule
Schedules are assigned based on business needs and may include:
  • 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST
  • 9:00 AM-6:00 PM CST
  • 10:00 AM-7:00 PM CST
  • 11:00 AM-8:00 PM CST
  • 12:00 PM-9:00 PM CST

Weekend availability is required.
Remote Work Requirements
  • Minimum 50 Mbps high-speed internet connection
  • Hardwired Ethernet connection required (no Wi-Fi, hotspot, or satellite internet)
  • Quiet, professional workspace free from distractions and background noise
  • Dedicated desk/workstation setup
