Job description

Contract Business Litigation Attorney (W2, Remote, North Carolina)
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a large, regional, full-service law firm to identify a Contract Business Litigation Attorney to support a busy litigation team. This is a long-term, indefinite W2 contract assignment that is not expected to convert to a full-time role.
The role will begin at approximately 30-35 hours per week for the first six weeks, then transition to a part-time, as-needed basis for ongoing overflow support. This opportunity is best suited for attorneys who are not currently committed to a full-time position, can start immediately, and have full availability with no extended time off during the initial six-week period.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
  • Support partners with complex commercial litigation and civil defense matters
  • Assist with case strategy, discovery, and deposition and trial preparation
  • Participate in virtual depositions as needed
Qualifications:
  • Active license and in good standing with the North Carolina Bar
  • Must reside in North Carolina for the duration of the assignment
  • 3+ years of business litigation experience required
  • Experience with complex commercial litigation and civil defense
  • Proficiency with time tracking, case management software, and MS Office Suite
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
