Job description

This is a remote position.

About the Firm

Our client is a well-established wealth management firm with a robust in-house tax practice, built through the acquisition of a large CPA firm and supported by its sister company. The firm is growing and looking to add a Tax Senior who thrives on high-volume return work and is ready to grow into a leadership role.

About the Role

This is a fully remote Tax Senior position supporting a transition of an existing book of business — roughly 150–200 returns annually, with a strong emphasis on business returns and 1040 work. You'll work alongside a collaborative team and have a realistic path to Manager within one to two years for the right performer.

The ideal candidate is a focused, efficient tax preparer who takes pride in accuracy and throughput — someone who genuinely enjoys digging into returns and getting them done well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare a high volume of business and individual tax returns (150–200 annually), with a primary focus on business entities.

  • Work closely with team members to support a structured client transition and ensure continuity of service.

  • Maintain accuracy and efficiency across a diverse return mix under seasonal deadlines.

  • Contribute to team knowledge and, over time, take on mentorship responsibilities as you grow toward a Manager role.

  • Stay current on relevant tax law changes and apply them proactively across your book of work.

Requirements
  • 2+ years of public accounting tax experience.

  • Strong business return preparation skills required; 1040 experience a plus.

  • Proficiency in CCH Axcess preferred.

  • CPA or EA preferred

  • Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working in a high-volume environment.

  • Must be located in the Eastern or Central time zone.

Benefits
  • Base compensation: $75,000–$125,000, commensurate with experience and credentials.

  • Bonus: Performance bonus paid in June, based on individual and firm experience.

  • Work arrangement: Fully remote

  • Paid Time Off: Flexible/unlimited PTO.

  • Retirement: 401(k) with company match.

  • Health coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Professional development: CPE / professional development budget.

  • Growth path: Realistic path to Manager within one to two years for strong performers.

  • Culture: A collaborative, team-oriented environment that values autonomy, precision, and professional growth.
