AWG is seeking an Associate Solutions Developer in Information Technology (IT) to serve as a delivery partner for our Retail Pricing systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of solutions, moving beyond basic support to take an active role in technical execution. You are a technologist who has moved past the initial learning phase and is ready to take ownership of specific project modules while collaborating with senior team members on larger architectural goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement technical solutions based on requirements while adhering to AWG standards with increasing autonomy.
Deliver high-quality, bug-free code for assigned tasks on time and within budget.
Contribute to the building of reusable assets and technical materials that benefit the broader AWG developer community.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure seamless system integrations and high-quality delivery.
Actively participate in the full project scope and contribute to a continuous improvement mentality within the dev team.
Collaborate with other developers and support engineers to understand system dependencies and integrations.
Troubleshoot complex issues and develop fixes while participating in a shared on-call rotation.
Provide accurate time and resource estimates for assigned project tasks.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related degree
- 2-4 years of experience in business application development.
- 1-4 years with Java and Spring/Spring Boot frameworks, including the ability to independently debug and enhance existing codebases.
- 2-4 years working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and experience working with web services/APIs.
- A strong understanding of the full SDLC, particularly the development, testing, and deployment phases.
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies.
- Strong ability to diagnose technical barriers and articulate when further senior support is needed.
- Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team, contributing unique perspectives to solve problems.
- Proven ability to develop clear and timely change documentation for all development tasks.
- Seeks appropriate direction when things are unclear and responds productively to changing priorities.
- A self-starter who takes ownership of assignments and effectively communicates status to stakeholders.
- Excels in working remotely and collaborating with remote team members to solve problems.
NICE TO HAVE/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Retail, wholesale, or Consumer Product Goods industry experience
Development experience with Java batch (Jberet framework) to maintain and optimize background processes.
Experience with file-transfer software such as Cleo Harmony.
Knowledge of DevOps technologies (Jenkins, GitHub) to manage automated deployments and version control.
