Job Description:

The ITG division of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Software Quality Analyst III. This position collaborates with product and engineering teams to assess software quality and ensure specified requirements are met through manual testing. They also create complex testing scenarios and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. This is a full-time remote position. Residency within a 100-mile radius of the Kansas City officeis required.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases for complex test scenarios, and promote and ensure appropriate test coverage.

  • Create, update, and manage test data for use in the various stages of software testing.

  • Improve, maintain, and adapt existing tests, and create new tests, as the product being tested evolves.

  • Investigate and resolve a wide range of issues using analytical thinking, creativity, and a strong understanding of QA best practices.

  • Devise effective testing strategies and solutions, even with limited information, drawing on previous experience and technical insight.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, clearly communicating findings, offering recommendations, and tailoring messaging to different audiences.

Management Responsibilities:

No direct reports.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Typically has a Bachelor's degree with 5 - 7 years of position related progressive professional, individual contributor experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with test management platforms, e.g., Jira, Zephyr, or similar platforms

  • Working knowledge of SQL

Preferred Experience:

Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred.

Systems & Technology Requirements:

Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Slack, Jira

Travel:

This position does not require overnight business travel. Candidates and employees are responsible for their personal transportation to/from the home and office, including events, meetings, and training required by the NAIC.

Compensation:

$71,900- $85,000 commensurate with education and experience.
