Budget Analyst – VA RPOW Contract
  • Position Title: Budget Analyst

  • Location: 100% Remote

  • Clearance: Public Trust

Contract: VA RPOW Support

Summary

Supports VA program offices with budget execution, financial tracking, obligation monitoring, and documentation management. Works within VA financial systems to ensure compliant, accurate, and timely budget actions.

Core Duties
  • Assist with budget formulation, execution, reconciliation, and financial reviews.

  • Prepare spend plans, obligation logs, funding documents, and status reports.

  • Monitor commitments, obligations, and expenditures in VA systems.

  • Track PRs, POs, invoices, and financial actions through VA workflows.

  • Maintain financial documentation, audit trails, and internal controls.

  • Support mid‑year reviews, year‑end closeout, and corrective action tracking.

  • Generate routine financial reports and data pulls from VA systems.

  • Coordinate with CORs, program managers, and financial staff to resolve discrepancies.

Required Qualifications
  • 2–4 years federal budget or financial management experience.

  • Experience with VA financial systems including:

  • FMS, IFC, VistA, iFAMS, and IPPS.

  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).

  • Understanding of federal appropriations, obligations, and cost tracking.

  • Ability to interpret financial data and follow federal budget rules.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with iFAMS Budget, Acquisition, or Financials modules.

  • Prior VA experience (VHA, VBA, NCA, or Staff Offices).
