Systems Security Tool Engineer
The Opportunity:
Serve as a key member of the HHS Security Tools and Infrastructure Management team with experience as a cybersecurity and systems engineer, supporting enterprise security operations within large federal enterprise environments. Focus primarily on the management and operations of CrowdStrike Falcon and backing up engineers with Cisco Stealthwatch and RSA NetWitness. Help to strengthen HHS security operations by designing scalable architectures, overseeing platform administration, and ensuring the health, performance, and integration of security analytics capabilities and supporting system infrastructure. Work closely with cross-functional engineering, operations, and security teams, to drive continuous improvement, maintain operational excellence, and advance enterprise-wide cyber defense objectives through structured governance, automation, and strategic platform management.
You Have:
  • 8+ years of experience in information security, cybersecurity engineering, or enterprise security operations
  • Experience administering CrowdStrike Falcon in a large enterprise environment
  • Experience supporting or operating Cisco Stealthwatch or RSA NetWitness
  • Experience leading security and infrastructure initiatives across cross-functional teams
  • Experience in scripting, including BASH, Python, Perl, or JavaScript, and command-line automation
  • Ability to optimize and troubleshoot complex security and infrastructure systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Computer Information Systems, Information Security, or IT
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience advancing enterprise detection engineering, security analytics, and threat intelligence workflows
  • Experience developing documentation, diagrams, operational processes, and configuration records
  • Experience mentoring junior team members
  • Knowledge of federal security standards such as CIS Controls, NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5, or defense STIGs

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
