How do remote brainstorming facilitators keep virtual sessions engaging and productive?

Remote brainstorming facilitators often use a variety of interactive tools, such as digital whiteboards and real-time polling software, to ensure active participation from all team members. They structure sessions with clear objectives, time limits, and frequent breaks to maintain focus and energy. Facilitators also encourage open communication and use breakout rooms for smaller group discussions, making it easier for quieter participants to share ideas. Building trust within the virtual environment is essential, so setting ground rules and fostering a supportive atmosphere are common practices.

To thrive as a Remote Brainstorming Facilitator, you need strong creative thinking, group management, and problem-solving abilities, often supported by experience in facilitation or team leadership. These skills and qualifications are vital for generating diverse ideas, maintaining engagement, and achieving successful outcomes in remote brainstorming sessions.

What is remote brainstorming?

Remote brainstorming is a collaborative process where individuals or teams generate and share ideas from different locations using digital tools. Instead of meeting in person, participants use video conferencing, chat apps, or specialized brainstorming platforms to contribute and build on each other's ideas. This approach allows for greater flexibility, inclusion of geographically dispersed team members, and often results in a wider range of creative solutions. Remote brainstorming can be structured with clear guidelines, time limits, or prompts to ensure effective participation and idea generation.

Job description

it's what's inside that counts

_______________________________

There's more to CMC than our products and the buildings, structures, and roads they go into. At CMC, it's the people inside our recycling centers, fabrication plants, manufacturing facilities, steel mills and offices that make us who we are as a company. Our success comes from finding, retaining, and supporting the highest quality talent by offering:

  • Day 1 Benefits Coverage with low cost Medical, Vision and Dental
  • Day 1 Paid-time Off and Vacation
  • 4.5% Company Match 401(k) Plan
  • $500 Annual Company-paid Lifestyle Benefit
  • Competitive Compensation and Bonuses
  • Company-paid Life and Disability Insurance
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • Training and Advancement Opportunities
Why This Job

CMC provides an excellent opportunity to learn the steel, construction reinforcement and ground stabilization industries and to grow in your career. Whether you will spend your day brainstorming in an office cubicle, operating a crane, running manufacturing equipment or troubleshooting technical obstacles, at CMC, you'll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.

What You'll Do
  • Support and execute longterm strategies that expand market adoption and drive sustained demand for Bridge Systems.
  • Build and maintain the company's technical credibility and product positioning in the bridge market, on a national basis - engaging DOTs, regulatory agencies, and specifying engineers to influence standards, approvals, and specifications upstream of active sales.
  • Represent CMC in industry organizations, technical committees, trade shows, and conferences that support the bridge strategy.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison to owners, DOTs, engineers of record, fabricators, and contractors from prebid through installation.
  • Manage state design verifications and R&D processes through external engineering consultants to feed product approval strategy and continuous improvement.
  • Gather customer insights, field feedback, and market signals to identify product needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Provide drawing/spec review, RFI responses, submittal support, and technical recommendations that optimize constructability and compliance.
What You'll Need
  • Location: Remote/Hybrid (with travel to meetings, customers, job sites, and plants). Travel capability (typical 50% depending on project activity and geography)
Your Education
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, structural or other relevant engineering. Current PE license (any state). Graduate level degree is a plus. 5-8 years bridge design, construction, and/or research experience

We are CMC, a Fortune 500 company at the leading edge of our industry. Our construction reinforcement and steel products have supported construction projects and structures around the world. The secret to our success? We've built our legacy by assembling a team of innovators and doers to tackle some of the most challenging construction reinforcement problems facing our world for more than 100 years - and we're just getting started.

If you're ready to join a team working to make our industry more sustainable, support the bridges, roadways, buildings and infrastructure that connects our communities, and do meaningful work, you're ready to join CMC. Apply today and start moving your career - and our world - forward. Let's build a better world!

CMC is committed to providing equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, physical or mental disability, national origin, citizenship, military or veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, or other status protected by federal, state or local law.
