Remote Brain Computer Interface information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Brain Computer Interface (BCI) Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Brain Computer Interface Engineer, you need expertise in neuroscience, signal processing, software development, and ideally an advanced degree in biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field. Familiarity with programming languages (such as Python or MATLAB), BCI platforms (like OpenBCI), and experience with EEG/EMG systems are typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective remote communication abilities set candidates apart. These skills ensure the development and maintenance of robust BCI systems, successful remote collaboration, and the advancement of innovative neurotechnology solutions.

What are Remote Brain Computer Interface jobs?

Remote Brain Computer Interface (BCI) jobs involve designing, developing, testing, or supporting technologies that enable direct communication between the brain and external devices, all while working from a remote location. These roles can include research scientists, software engineers, data analysts, or user interface designers specializing in BCI applications. Professionals in this field collaborate virtually to advance neurotechnology, contribute to assistive devices, or improve human-computer interaction. Remote BCI jobs often require expertise in neuroscience, computer science, machine learning, and signal processing.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) roles?

Professionals in remote BCI positions often encounter challenges such as maintaining effective collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams, managing sensitive data securely, and troubleshooting specialized hardware or software remotely. Since BCI projects typically involve neuroscientists, engineers, and software developers, clear communication and regular virtual meetings are essential for synchronizing progress. Additionally, remote work can make testing and debugging BCI devices more complex, requiring creative solutions and sometimes coordination with onsite staff or labs.

This Presales position is responsible for working with Gluware and our customers to solve Enterprise networking automation challenges.  The ideal candidate has Presales, automation and network expertise and enjoys working with new technology in a fast-paced company to solve customer challenges.  You will interface with customer network engineering and operations teams daily.  The position will report to the Vice President of Presales and Service Delivery.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Champion the technical win in complex enterprise network automation sales campaigns, partnering closely with Gluware Account Executives.
  • Design solutions to customer challenges utilizing the Gluware platform integrated with third-party systems including ITSM, CMDB, IPAM, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations that speak directly to customer pain points and use cases.
  • Lead proof of concept (PoC) engagements end-to-end — from scoping through execution — delivering working automation solutions that demonstrate real business value.
  • Build custom automations during PoC engagements that showcase the depth and flexibility of the Gluware platform.
  • Create and deliver targeted technical sales presentations tailored to both engineering and business
  • Act as a trusted automation advisor to customers, becoming a peer-level resource to their senior network and automation architects.
  • Contribute to shared presales assets including demo environments, reusable PoC automation templates, and technical collateral.
  • Collaborate with Gluware Engineering, Service Delivery, Sales, and Customer Success teams to drive excellent customer experiences.
  • Partner with Solutions Architect peers to tackle unique and complex customer challenges, sharing knowledge across the team.
  • Maintain current market awareness of network, cloud, and competitive technologies, including emerging automation platforms and methodologies.
  • Represent Gluware at industry events, conferences, and partner engagements as a subject matter expert.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise network architectures, products, and configurations — including routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN, and related network technologies.
  • 3+ years of customer-facing presales experience, with a proven ability to run complex technical sales cycles.
  • Expertise in CLI configurations, regular expressions, and JavaScript or Python scripting; JavaScript proficiency is particularly valued given the Gluware platform architecture.
  • Experience with ITSM platforms (particularly ServiceNow) and enterprise CMDB solutions.
  • Industry certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent desired.
  • Hands-on experience with REST API integrations and data modeling using JSON, YANG, YAML, or XML.
  • Familiarity with network configuration compliance, audit workflows, and intent-based networking concepts.
  • Hands-on experience building or demonstrating AI-powered automation solutions.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with Linux administration.
  • Working knowledge of public and hybrid cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP.
  • Working knowledge of leading virtualization and container solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills — equally comfortable in a whiteboard session with network engineers and a business review with IT leadership.
  • Self-directed and results-driven, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, information systems, engineering, or equivalent work experience

Travel: Up to 30%, with occasional domestic and international travel for customer engagements and industry events.
