What is a Remote Botox RN?

A Remote Botox RN is a registered nurse who is licensed and trained to administer Botox injections and consult with clients, but works remotely rather than in a traditional clinic setting. These professionals may provide virtual consultations, develop treatment plans, and guide patients through pre- and post-procedure care via telehealth platforms. While the actual injection procedures may still require in-person appointments, Remote Botox RNs play a key role in patient education, follow-up care, and support, ensuring high standards of safety and satisfaction in aesthetic treatments.

What is the difference between Remote Botox Rn vs Medical Aesthetic Nurse?

AspectRemote Botox RnMedical Aesthetic Nurse
CredentialsRegistered Nurse (RN) license, Botox certificationRegistered Nurse (RN) license, aesthetic training, Botox certification

Remote Botox Rns focus on virtual consultations and patient assessments, often working remotely with minimal in-person contact. Medical Aesthetic Nurses typically perform in-person procedures like Botox injections in clinics or spas. While both roles require RN licensure and Botox certification, Remote Botox Rns emphasize telehealth skills, whereas Medical Aesthetic Nurses are more hands-on in clinical settings.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Botox RN, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Botox RN, you need a valid RN license, specialized training or certification in aesthetic injectables, and a solid understanding of facial anatomy. Familiarity with telemedicine platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and injectable products is typically required. Strong communication, attention to detail, and patient education skills are crucial for delivering safe and effective treatments remotely. These competencies ensure patient safety, compliance with regulations, and high-quality cosmetic outcomes in a virtual care environment.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Botox RNs, and how can they be overcome?

Remote Botox RNs often face challenges such as ensuring proper patient assessment via virtual consultations, maintaining compliance with state regulations, and managing logistics for product delivery and follow-up care. To overcome these, it's important to establish clear communication protocols, leverage secure telehealth platforms, and stay updated on licensure requirements for each state you serve. Building strong relationships with supervising physicians and collaborating closely with local clinics can also help address patient safety and continuity of care.

Job description

Job Description
Schedule: This role is fully remote but requires working hours of Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm MST or PST preferred; EST and CST will still be considered.
A bit about this role:
Our Devoted Medical Specialty Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) roles include both Nurse Practitioners (APRNs) and Physician Assistants - candidates for both will be considered. This position is a unique opportunity for an experienced APP with a compassionate, entrepreneurial approach to deliver exceptional preventive cardiovascular care to members with hypertension and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk.
In this role you will be working in a next generation virtual specialty clinic that dramatically expands access to care for America's most vulnerable seniors. The clinic focuses on optimizing hypertension management and reducing cardiovascular risk for Devoted Health members. You will utilize and help improve our home-grown technology and electronic health information platform to carry out virtual visits. On a day-to-day basis you will work closely with our virtual specialty clinic team members at Devoted Medical including physicians and other APPs as well as medical assistants, clinical guides (health coaches), clinical pharmacists, and social workers. You will be a key member of our interdisciplinary team.
The Cardiometabolic clinic is one of several of Devoted's virtual specialty care programs that are designed as "micro centers of excellence" that deliver highly tailored, specialized care to patients with specific chronic conditions.
Responsibilities and Impact will include:
  • Conduct focused and thorough assessments of patients with hypertension through virtual consultations including ordering diagnostics as needed, interpreting labs and imaging data, and developing a treatment plan in collaboration with the specialty care clinic team.
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans for patients, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and monitoring recommendations.
  • Mitigate the risk of cardiovascular disease by proactively initiating and managing statin therapy in persons with diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team-including primary care providers, specialists, and Devoted team members such as pharmacy, social work, and health coaches-as well as family members and caregivers to coordinate holistic, patient-centered care, ensure continuity, and implement a collaborative care plan.
  • Serve as the clinical advisor and provide clinical escalation support for the specialty clinic staff and other teams during business hours.
  • Participate in regular panel review discussions to offer advice and provide guidance around medical management.
  • Utilize our home grown electronic health information system for visits while also providing feedback on how to improve the interface.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices and advancements in hypertension and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk reduction.
  • Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including patient privacy and telehealth regulations.

Required skills and experience:
  • An active and clear RN and APRN or Physician Assistant license must be maintained while employed at Devoted Medical with a willingness to obtain and maintain multiple state licenses.
  • 5+ years in outpatient clinical practice, including 2+ years concentrated in primary care or a relevant subspecialty (e.g., cardiology, nephrology, endocrinology) with a heavy focus on the management of hypertension and hyperlipidemia. Strong clinical foundation in primary and secondary prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), including disease processes, evidence-based treatment strategies, medication management, and lifestyle modification.
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm MST or PST preferred; EST and CST will also be considered.
  • Fully bilingual in Spanish and English.

Desired skills and experience:
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted clinical workflows
  • Proficiency in using telehealth technology and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Virtual care experience is preferred along with a strong desire to continue practicing clinically and performing virtual visits - you believe in the mission of bringing care to where the patient lives.
  • An understanding of managed care is a plus, including how to appropriately assess STARS/HEDIS measures, code clinical comorbidities, and identify clinical care gaps.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred for this position.

Licensure and Certification:
  • An active and clear RN and APRN or Physician's Assistant license is required at time of hire and must be maintained while employed at Devoted Medical with a willingness to obtain and maintain multiple state licenses.
  • Multi-state licensure is required, along with the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain additional licenses as needed. Devoted currently operates in 29 states and covers all licensing costs.

Attributes for success:
  • You're influential with patients, promoting positive health outcomes and reducing clinical inertia.
  • You're comfortable operating in a build environment where not everything has a playbook yet - and that energizes rather than frustrates you.
  • You stay at the forefront of your field - current on the latest clinical guidelines and eager to adopt new technologies that benefit clinicians and patients.
  • You thrive on a fast-paced, interprofessional team where agility, collaboration, and rapid improvement are the norm.
  • You have excellent clinical and non-clinical judgment and provide thorough, deeply empathetic care - the kind that goes the last mile for patients.
  • Above all, you're passionate about making healthcare better, solving complex problems, and delivering care you'd want for your own family.
