Job description

What you will do:

While the home location states that it is based out of Toronto, Ontario, this position is open to candidates remotely from anywhere in Canada.

The Event Manager, Groups & Events (Contract) plays a key role in supporting the Corporate Sales team by coordinating group bookings and event logistics, providing exceptional client service, and ensuring the seamless execution of group experiences. This position works closely with Sales Managers, The Rec Room and theatre teams, internal departments, and clients to support all stages of the booking and event process.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Strong administration, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.

This is a remote, short-term (3-month contract) position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage administrative aspects of group bookings and events, including creating and updating contracts, updating booking calendars, preparing event profiles, issuing vouchers, and ensuring accurate record keeping

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for small group inquiries, providing timely responses and exceptional customer service

  • Collaborate closely with Sales Managers to support lead generation, client communications, proposal preparation, and account management activities.

  • Liaise with internal departments, venue partners, and theatre teams to ensure all event requirements and operational details are accurately communicated and executed

  • Maintain accurate client and event information within CRM and booking systems, ensuring data integrity and timely updates

  • Assist with research, market analysis, and prospecting initiatives to identify new business opportunities and support sales growth objectives

  • Support special projects and other administrative duties as assigned.

Education & Certification

  • Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Tourism, Event Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in event management, hospitality, customer service, sales support, or a related field.

  • Experience coordinating group bookings, events, or client-facing programs is considered an asset.

  • Experience working with CRM platforms, booking systems, and Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
