Position Overview

The Commercial Auto Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster is responsible for the end-to-end management of complex liability claims, requiring a high level of analytical thinking, sound judgment, and professional discretion. This role involves conducting thorough investigations, evaluating coverage and liability, and driving timely, fair claim resolutions while maintaining accurate reserves and comprehensive documentation.


The adjuster serves as a key point of contact for agents, policyholders, and legal partners, delivering responsive, high-quality service throughout the claims lifecycle. Success in this position requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate evolving legal and regulatory environments. The role also demands proficiency in a paperless claims system and a willingness to participate in legal proceedings, including travel for mediations, depositions, and trials as needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate & Evaluate - Conduct in-depth claim investigations, gather recorded statements, and determine coverage
  • Reserve Management - Timely & Adequate reserving.
  • Document Management - Maintain organized, professional claim files, reports, and communications
  • Negotiate & Resolve - Strategically negotiate settlements to achieve fair, timely resolutions.
  • Stay Current - Keep up with evolving legal statutes, policy conditions, and industry trends.
  • Navigate Technology - Operate seamlessly within a paperless Claims Management System.
  • Engage in Legal Proceedings - Travel as needed for depositions, mediations, and trials.

Requirements

  • 2+ years handling Commercial Automobile or Motor Carrier Liability claims, inclusive of litigation experience.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
  • Experience with mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Strong collaboration with legal counsel and claims teams.
  • Multi-State adjusting experience is preferred.
  • Insurance education and/or designations a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, good keyboarding and technology skills.
