Job description

Position Overview
NADAP is seeking a Vocational Account Manager (contract or direct hire) to support a new regional OASAS-funded workforce initiative serving individuals participating in substance use treatment and recovery programs across Upstate New York.
This position will focus on employer engagement, job lead development, workforce partnerships, and regional labor market coordination to expand employment opportunities for individuals in recovery. The Vocational Account Manager will work closely with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRCs), treatment providers, workforce partners, and employers to develop hiring pipelines and identify employment opportunities across multiple Upstate regions.
This is not a traditional case management or counseling position. The primary focus is employer relationship management, workforce partnership development, and regional job development activities that support treatment and recovery providers and the individuals they serve.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers across assigned Upstate New York regions
  • Conduct outreach to employers, workforce organizations, chambers of commerce, recovery providers, and community partners to identify employment opportunities and strengthen workforce partnerships
  • Generate, track, and distribute timely job leads and sector-specific employment opportunities to Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRCs) and provider partners
  • Build employer partnerships that support competitive, integrated employment opportunities for individuals participating in treatment and recovery services
  • Establish and maintain ongoing communication with VRCs, treatment providers, and workforce partners to support coordinated service delivery
  • Research labor market trends, regional hiring needs, and high-growth industries to support job development efforts
  • Coordinate participation in hiring events, workforce meetings, employer engagement activities, and regional partner convenings
  • Maintain accurate documentation of employer engagement, job leads, outreach activity, and regional coverage within NADAP's CRM and workforce systems
  • Track and support performance metrics related to employer engagement, job lead generation, and regional outreach activities
  • Collaborate with internal workforce and program staff to support reporting requirements and continuous program improvement
  • Travel periodically throughout assigned regions, as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in workforce development, employer engagement, staffing, recruiting, vocational rehabilitation, or related fields
  • Knowledge of workforce systems, including WIOA, workforce boards, One Stops, or community employment programs preferred
  • Strong understanding of labor market trends and employer hiring needs
  • Experience using CRM/database systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage regional outreach across multiple counties
  • Familiarity with Upstate, New York employers and workforce networks preferred
  • Must be located in New York State
  • Must have a valid driver's license and car available for regional travel as needed. Milage reimbursement available
