Derick Mental Health Counseling is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a remote setting. This position is fully remote, reinforcing our commitment to providing a flexible work-life balance. Our work setting fosters a collaborative and supportive atmosphere among our team members, while allowing you to engage in meaningful interactions with clients through virtual platforms. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend shifts on a rotational basis to accommodate client needs.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the severity, frequency, and nature of clients' mood disorder symptoms.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, considering their unique goals, preferences, and needs.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address mood disorders effectively.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies to foster better understanding and compliance.
• Monitor client progress meticulously, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations and feedback.
• Engage in collaboration with psychiatrists and medical professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment to apply best practices in your therapeutic approach.
• Ensure accurate, confidential, and compliant documentation of all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans.
• Participate actively in case consultations and team meetings to share insights and enhance clinical practices.
• Support advocacy efforts to destigmatize mental health issues related to mood disorders within the community.

You will primarily work with individuals experiencing various mood disorders, including those grappling with clinical depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. Our diverse patient population ranges from adolescents to older adults, presenting the opportunity to tailor your therapeutic approaches to meet various age-related and cultural needs.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.
• Current and valid licensure in California as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT.
• Two years of post-licensure experience focusing on mood disorders is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in evidence-based treatment methodologies, especially Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and familiarity with collaborative care involving psychiatrists and other medical professionals.
• Ability to demonstrate a successful track record in improving client outcomes in mood disorder treatment.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to create rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

• Experience working in outpatient settings and familiarity with remote therapeutic practices.
• Background in working with multidisciplinary teams in providing integrated mental health care.
• Active engagement in continuous professional development related to mental health treatment and therapeutic practices.
