Aalis Management Consulting is seeking an experienced Alternate Contract Manager Consultant to support a federal Department of Defense program. The Alternate Contract Manager will provide contract administration, program oversight, stakeholder coordination, and management support, and must be capable of assuming the full responsibilities of the Contract Manager when required.

This position requires significant experience managing federal contracts, coordinating Government stakeholders, overseeing schedules and deliverables, managing staffing and risk, and ensuring contract performance and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day federal contract administration and contract performance management.
  • Serve as the Alternate/Deputy to the Contract Manager and assume full Contract Manager responsibilities when necessary.
  • Coordinate with Government stakeholders, including Contracting Officers and Contracting Officer's Representatives (CO/CORs).
  • Monitor contract requirements, deliverables, schedules, staffing, milestones, and performance.
  • Support contract compliance, reporting, quality control, and risk management.
  • Identify and resolve contract, staffing, schedule, and performance issues.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary professional-services personnel and support workforce continuity.
  • Review deliverables for accuracy, quality, completeness, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Support Government meetings, status reviews, briefings, and contract performance discussions.
  • Maintain effective communication between the contractor team and Government stakeholders.
  • Provide executive-level written and verbal communication regarding contract status, risks, issues, and performance.
  • Support analytical, engineering, infrastructure, energy, or other technical professional-services programs as applicable.
  • Maintain complete and accurate contract documentation and reporting.
  • Provide continuity of leadership and contract oversight during the Contract Manager's absence.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of direct federal contract management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with federal contract administration.
  • Experience managing federal contract requirements, deliverables, schedules, staffing, and performance.
  • Experience working directly with Government stakeholders, including COs and/or CORs.
  • Experience supporting risk, issue, quality, and compliance management.
  • Experience managing or overseeing professional-services personnel.
  • Ability to assume full Contract Manager responsibilities when required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience serving as a Deputy Contract Manager, Alternate Contract Manager, Deputy Program Manager, or similar contract leadership role.
  • Experience managing FFP contracts.
  • Experience supporting DoD or other federal agency contracts.
  • Experience supporting analytical, engineering, infrastructure, energy, or technical professional-services programs.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with federal contract reporting, compliance, quality assurance, and performance management.
  • Experience supporting complex or multi-functional Government programs.
Education & Certification
  • A bachelor's degree in a business-related field is required.
  • PMP, CPCM, FAC-C, or other relevant certifications may be advantageous but are not required.
