We are looking for a Health Science Research Intern to join the Oura Health Science team. Our mission is to position Oura as a cornerstone of next-generation health by accelerating high-quality research and clinical studies, R&D and science dissemination, and deepening our footprint in research and clinical ecosystems. As an intern on this team, you will contribute to study design, evidence generation, and documentation that support current and emerging Health Science priorities.
This is a remote U.S. role targeting a June 15 start date for approximately 12 weeks.
What you will do
  • Contribute to the design and planning of clinical and real-world evidence studies, including helping to translate scientific questions into feasible study approaches.
  • Create and maintain scientific and operational documentation and tools to support Oura's clinical and real-world evidence studies.
  • Support data-driven insights generation through organizing, summarizing, and describing health-related data under the guidance of experienced scientists.
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration with partners such as Research Operations, Product, Regulatory, and Data Science by sharing clear, concise updates on your work.
  • Help maintain high standards of scientific rigor, ethics, and participant-centric thinking in all aspects of the work you support.
Requirements
We would love to have you on our team if you have:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's or PhD in a relevant field such as Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Psychology, Neuroscience, Behavioral or Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplines with a focus on health research, digital health, or clinical/observational studies.
  • Experience with literature reviews and synthesis of clinical or epidemiologic endpoints
  • Experience designing surveys and/or working with questionnaires or patient-reported outcomes.
  • Prior experience drafting or supporting study protocols, statistical analysis plans, or IRB submissions.
  • Basic proficiency in R, Python, or SQL for data wrangling and descriptive analysis; familiarity with interpreting summary statistics, inferential statistics, and visualizations.
  • Ability to translate technical details into clear, concise writing and visuals for cross-functional audiences; attention to detail in documentation and data handling.
  • Demonstrated interest in digital health, wearables, or real-world evidence, and enthusiasm for contributing to rigorous, participant-centric study design.

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 2 $46/hr - $55/hr
  • Region 3 $44/hr - $50/hr
