What remote jobs can I do with a biology degree?

A biology minor can qualify you for remote roles such as research assistant, science writer, medical or technical editor, and data analyst, often requiring skills in data management, scientific communication, and familiarity with tools like Excel or statistical software. Many of these positions involve analyzing data, creating reports, or communicating scientific concepts, and may require relevant certifications or experience. Remote biology-related jobs typically involve flexible schedules and independent work environments.

What is a Remote Biology Minor?

A Remote Biology Minor is an academic program that allows students to study biology through online courses, rather than attending classes in person. This option is ideal for students who want to supplement their major with biological science knowledge while maintaining flexibility in their location and schedule. The curriculum typically covers fundamental biology topics such as genetics, ecology, and cell biology, and may include virtual labs or interactive assignments. Completing a biology minor remotely can enhance a student's understanding of life sciences and broaden their career opportunities in related fields.

What types of projects and collaborations can a remote biology minor expect when working with virtual research teams?

As a remote biology minor, you may participate in a variety of projects such as data analysis, literature reviews, or contributing to ongoing research through tasks like coding or digital microscopy. Collaboration typically happens via video meetings, shared documents, and online lab platforms, where you'll interact with researchers, faculty, or other students. Although you may not handle physical lab equipment, you'll gain valuable experience working in interdisciplinary teams, learning scientific communication, and using digital tools common in modern biology research environments.

What can I do with a minor in biology?

A minor in biology can prepare you for entry-level roles in healthcare, research, environmental science, education, and biotechnology. It also provides foundational knowledge useful for graduate studies or certifications in related fields, and developing skills in laboratory techniques and data analysis can enhance job prospects.

What jobs make 10,000 a month without a degree?

High-paying jobs that can reach $10,000 a month without a degree include roles such as freelance consultants, real estate agents, sales managers, and certain tech roles like web developers or digital marketers with strong skills and experience. Success in these fields often depends on building a client base, certifications, or specialized knowledge, rather than formal education.

What are good minors for a biology degree?

For a remote biology minor, complementary minors such as chemistry, environmental science, or data analysis can enhance understanding of biological concepts and improve employability. These minors develop skills useful in research, healthcare, or environmental fields, often requiring familiarity with laboratory tools and statistical software.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Biology Instructor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Biology Instructor, you need a solid foundation in biological sciences, typically demonstrated by at least a bachelor's degree in biology or a related field and teaching credentials. Familiarity with virtual classroom platforms, digital collaboration tools, and online assessment systems is essential. Strong communication, adaptability, and self-motivation are important soft skills for engaging students and managing remote instruction effectively. These skills and qualities are crucial for delivering quality education, maintaining student engagement, and ensuring learning outcomes in a virtual environment.

Job description

Manager, Lead Generation
Remote - US

Quanterix is a global leader in ultra-sensitive biomarker detection, enabling breakthroughs in disease research, diagnostics, and drug development. Its proprietary Simoa® technology delivers industry-leading sensitivity, allowing researchers to detect and quantify biomarkers in blood and other fluids at concentrations far below traditional limits. With more than 3,400 peer-reviewed publications, Quanterix has been a trusted partner to the scientific community for nearly two decades. In 2025, Quanterix acquired Akoya Biosciences, The Spatial Biology Company®, adding multiplexed tissue imaging with single-cell resolution to its portfolio. Together, the combined company offers a uniquely integrated platform that connects biology across blood and tissue-advancing precision medicine from discovery to diagnostics.
ROLE SUMMARY:
Quanterix is seeking a high-impact Manager of Lead Generation to lead, develop, and inspire a team of Lead Generation Specialists (LGS) responsible for top-of-funnel pipeline generation. This fully remote role is central to our commercial growth strategy, targeting new placements of Simoa and spatial instruments and expanding adoption of our accelerator services across pharma, biotech, academic, and CRO accounts.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who has excelled as an individual contributor in outbound sales development and now thrives coaching others to replicate that success. You will own team KPI attainment, build and refine outbound sequences, and ensure the LGS team is consistently setting high-quality meetings for our Business Development team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Team Leadership & Performance Management
    • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Lead Generation Specialists in a fully remote environment
    • Own and drive team KPI attainment across meetings booked, cold call volume, and opportunities generated
    • Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings, and performance reviews with structured coaching frameworks
    • Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance
  • Enablement & Outbound Strategy
    • Develop, write, test, and iterate outbound email and call sequences tailored to Quanterix's core buyer personas (research scientists, lab directors, translational medicine leads)
    • Build and maintain a library of messaging assets, call scripts, objection-handling guides, and talk tracks specific to Simoa / Spatial instrumentation and accelerator services
    • Partner with Marketing to align outbound messaging with campaign initiatives and ICP targeting
    • Implement best practices for multi-channel prospecting including cold calling, email, LinkedIn, and event follow-up
  • Coaching & Mentorship
    • Run live call coaching sessions and roleplay exercises to sharpen prospecting conversations
    • Identify individual development opportunities and create tailored coaching plans for LGS team members
    • Foster career growth for top performers, supporting promotion pathways within the company
  • Pipeline & Process Optimization
    • Ensure clean data hygiene and accurate activity logging in Salesforce; enforce CRM compliance standards
    • Optimize use of tech stack to maximize LGS productivity and outreach effectiveness
    • Analyze funnel metrics, conversion rates, and sequence performance data to identify areas for improvement
    • Partner with Business Development to ensure smooth meeting handoffs and qualification alignment
    • Report on team performance, pipeline contribution, and forecasting to Commercial leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 6+ years of experience in lead generation, sales development, or inside sales in a B2B environment
  • 3+ years in a supervisory, team lead, or management role overseeing SDR or LGS teams
  • Life sciences, diagnostics, laboratory instrumentation, or biotech sales development experience
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding team-level pipeline and meeting KPIs
  • Experience writing outbound prospecting sequences (email, call, LinkedIn) with measurable results
  • Strong coaching instincts with ability to give structured, actionable, and motivating feedback
  • Proficiency in CRM management and data hygiene standards
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fully remote, high-accountability work environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Familiarity with academic, pharma, CRO, or hospital research buyer personas
  • Experience managing outbound prospecting for capital equipment or high-value scientific platforms
  • Exposure to both inbound and outbound lead generation motions

EXPECTATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Fully remote position, requirement to have a home office area with dependable internet connection
  • Minor travel expectations, <5%

WHY YOU'LL LIKE WORKING WITH US:
Our Technology:
From discovery to diagnostics, Quanterix's ultrasensitive biomarker detection is fueling breakthroughs only made possible through its unparalleled sensitivity and flexibility.
