POSITION SPECIFICS

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a candidate for an Administrative Assistant - Intermediate Support in Eberly College of Science's Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. The Administrative Assistant will be a detailed oriented and organized individual who will provide direct administrative and professional support. This position will perform complex tasks with minimal supervision.The successful candidatewill be responsible for the following:

  • Provide leadership to the planning and facilitation ofsupport activitiesforan office or work unit
  • Respond to routine and moderately complex questions/issues concerning unit/University policies, processes, and procedures from internal and external contacts
  • Create and maintain files, databases, and reports
  • Monitor and maintainbudgets;track expendituresfor seven research faculty members along with their lab personnel and graduate students.
    • These tasks require knowledge in Simba, PSUBuy and SAP Concur Penn State systems
    • Examples of these tasks are purchasing card reconciliation, purchase orders and other financial-related job assignments.
  • Generate, prepare, and maintain reports and spreadsheets, and authorize processing of payments
  • Compile and organize information to develop agendas, meeting materials, and reports
  • Arrange meetings; lead coordination and planning ofspecial events, conferences, and other functions
  • Support theplanning and coordination of moderately complex projects
  • Serve on various committees; prepare agendas, take and compose minutes
  • Develop website contentand maintain web pages

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $40,608.00 - $58,836.00.
