We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Counselor to join our team at Balance & Harmony Recovery Clinic. Despite the remote nature, you will be part of a close-knit team that collaborates actively through regular meetings and supervision sessions. You will have access to a virtual office equipped with industry-standard tools to ensure seamless interactions with clients, other counselors, and staff.

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions focused on enhancing clients' coping strategies and emotional resilience.
• Monitor each client's progress closely, utilizing evidence-based assessment tools to implement and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Engage with caregivers and families to equip them with the resources and strategies to effectively manage behavioral health challenges in the home environment.
• Proactively identify and address behavioral patterns that may hinder a client’s recovery journey, fostering a supportive atmosphere conducive to growth.
• Document all interactions meticulously within our electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Participate in regular case conferences and team meetings to discuss ongoing treatment strategies and share insights with colleagues.

Our clinic serves a diverse client base, including individuals grappling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational issues. You will work with clients of different ages and backgrounds, tailoring your therapeutic approaches to meet each client's unique needs and cultural contexts. Understanding the community dynamics of New Bedford will enhance your ability to connect with and serve your clientele effectively.

• A minimum of a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of treatment modalities and the effects of prescribed medications on mental health.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport quickly with clients and their families.
• Proficiency in using telehealth technology and EHR software is preferred.

• At least 2 years of direct clinical experience in a mental health setting.
• Experience working with diverse populations and a strong cultural competence.
• Relevant certifications or additional training in therapy modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or trauma-informed care.
