Job description

Valley View Hospital is seeking a qualified individual to work as a full-time Billing Auditor in our Patient Financial Services department.

This is a remote position! Applicants who will be working from residences in Colorado preferred.

Hospital billing or hospital claims Follow-up experience required!

Meditech/Epic experience preferred!

The general objectives of this position are to: coordinate Commercial billing, ensuring clean claims are sent out; demonstrate extensive methodology and knowledge to produce accurate UB04 and 1504 forms; deal with billing issues in a professional manner in order to resolve balances and obtain financial goals of the department; process re-bills as necessary; validate claims on SSI; and ensure that claims are sent out with appropriate information such as authorizations and correct patient information.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains accurate account information at all times.
  • Makes necessary corrections to accounts for proper billing.
  • Ensures billing is done in a timely manner by monitoring reports generated by billing system.
  • Processes the Medicaid RA for adjustments.
  • Re-bills insurance companies when needed.
  • Timely prepares and bills secondary payer accounts.
  • Researches and resolves late charge/credits for accuracy and re-bill.
  • Documents each account to reflect action taken and when additional action is scheduled.
  • Acts as a liaison and coordinates needed documentation between payer, medical records, review organizations, manager care provider, physician's office and ancillary departments.
  • Coordinates with system operations department to discuss processing problems and resolutions.
  • Monitors rejection reports and resolves issues.
  • Provides feedback of issues and trends to improve processes.
  • Ensures claims are received by the payers.
  • Covers the duties of the other billers (Medicare and Medicaid) when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of healthcare business office experience required.
  • Organizational experience required.

Skills:

  • Computer skills, Meditech, SSI, Optical Storage System, PC, Windows Software.
  • Read/comprehend written instructions.
  • Follow verbal instructions.
  • Payer billing requirements compliance.

Requirement:

  • Good credit rating required.

SALARY

  • Entry salary dependent upon education, skill set, and experience.
  • Wage range: $20.00 - $28.87/hour
