What is a Remote BCBA Assessor?

A Remote BCBA Assessor is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who conducts behavioral assessments and supervises treatment plans for clients, typically children with autism or other developmental disorders, through virtual or telehealth platforms. They use video conferencing and specialized software to observe behaviors, collaborate with families or caregivers, and develop individualized intervention strategies. This remote approach allows access to services for clients who may not be able to attend in-person sessions, while maintaining the same professional standards required for effective behavioral therapy.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote BCBA Assessor?

To thrive as a Remote BCBA Assessor, you need board certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA), expertise in applied behavior analysis (ABA), and experience conducting behavioral assessments. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic data collection systems, and secure client management tools is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for engaging clients and collaborating with remote teams. These competencies ensure accurate assessments, ethical treatment planning, and successful outcomes in a digital healthcare environment.

What are some common challenges Remote BCBA Assessors face when conducting assessments virtually, and how can they be addressed?

Remote BCBA Assessors often encounter challenges such as limited visibility into the client's environment, difficulty building rapport with clients and caregivers, and technical issues during virtual sessions. To address these, it's important to establish clear communication protocols, use reliable telehealth platforms, and provide thorough instructions to caregivers ahead of time. Assessors should also be flexible, adapting assessment tools and strategies to suit the remote format and actively engaging caregivers to ensure accurate data collection. Regular team collaboration and ongoing professional development in telehealth best practices can further enhance the effectiveness of remote assessments.

BCBA Assessor (Remote)Location: Fully Remote, Open NationwidePart-Time | $50–$65/hour | Volume-Based | Hiring ASAPWhy Work With House of Hearts ABA?

House of Hearts ABA is a heart-first ABA company that believes families deserve fast, accurate access to care, and that starts with getting assessments done right and done efficiently. We are looking for an experienced BCBA Assessor to join our team in a fully remote, part-time capacity, and to be a key part of how quickly and effectively families move into services.

This is a flexible, volume-based role built for a BCBA who wants meaningful part-time work, competitive pay, and the ability to work from anywhere.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Conduct Remote Assessments: Complete initial and ongoing ABA assessments entirely via telehealth, using strong clinical judgment to gather accurate, reliable data remotely.

  • Work Efficiently: Move through assessments with speed and precision, without sacrificing clinical quality or thoroughness.

  • Document in Central Reach: Accurately complete assessment documentation and reporting within our EHR system.

  • Support Volume Fluctuation: Take on a flexible caseload of assessments that varies week to week, ranging from lighter weeks to higher-volume stretches.

  • Communicate Clearly: Work closely with families and internal teams, including in Spanish or another second language where needed, to ensure a smooth assessment experience.

  • Stay Compliant & Ethical: Ensure every assessment aligns with BACB ethics, state regulations, and payer requirements.

What We're Looking For
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing

  • Proven, hands-on experience conducting remote/telehealth ABA assessments

  • Experience working within Central Reach

  • Bilingual candidates strongly preferred

  • Deep working knowledge of assessment tools and methodology, with the ability to conduct assessments both thoroughly and efficiently

  • Comfortable with a volume-based caseload, with the ability to consistently take on 7 to 13 assessments per month, some weeks lighter (2–3), some weeks heavier (8–10)

  • Reliable, tech-comfortable, and able to start quickly

Why This Role Works

This position is built for a BCBA who wants strong part-time pay without geographic limits. You can work from anywhere, set your own environment, and take on a caseload that flexes with real family demand while being backed by a team that values efficient, high-quality clinical work.
