We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Collaboration team supporting a Platform One environment. In this role, you will design and build the plug-ins, integrations, and collaboration features that supported teams rely on to work effectively, extending and connecting enterprise collaboration tools such as Mattermost to the systems and workflows around them. You will develop full-stack software, integrate against internal and third-party APIs, and work closely with the teams you support to turn their needs into reliable, secure capabilities. The position is hands-on software development in a fast-paced, mission-focused, agile environment.Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer on the Enterprise Collaboration team, you are accountable for:
Software Development and Integration
  • Design, develop, and maintain plug-ins, extensions, and integrations for enterprise collaboration tools (e.g., Mattermost) used by supported teams.
  • Develop web application front-ends and supporting services, and integrate collaboration platforms with internal and third-party systems through their APIs, webhooks, and extension frameworks.
  • Write well-structured, documented, and testable code, and participate in code reviews to uphold quality and maintainability.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues across the collaboration tooling and its integrations.
Collaboration and Delivery
  • Work directly with supported teams to understand their workflows and translate needs into practical collaboration capabilities.
  • Deploy updates and fixes through established CI/CD pipelines, and provide technical support to users and fellow engineers.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, security-first engineering culture, sharing methods and lessons learned across programs.
Minimum Requirements
  • US Citizenship required
  • Security: Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline plus 5 or more years of technical experience; additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Technical Experience:
    • Web application development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue, JavaScript).
    • API development and implementation.
    • Object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java, C#).
    • Database development (e.g., MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
    • Developing within an Agile SDLC environment (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, or Scaled Agile Framework).
    • GitOps and version control with Git.
    • CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins).
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, with initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly, and excellent spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience developing Mattermost plug-ins or integrations, or plug-in/extension development for a comparable enterprise collaboration platform (e.g., Slack, Teams).
  • Experience with Platform One or other DoD software factories.
  • Application deployment in Docker containers.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services such as VPC, EC2, S3, and Lambda.
  • Container orchestration with Kubernetes; Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent a plus.
  • Identity and Access Management tools (e.g., Keycloak, Appgate, Okta).
  • One or more scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts; prior implementation of an AI/ML feature a plus.
Working Relationships
  • Reports to: Colorado Springs Site Leadership (Program/Team Lead).
  • Collaborates with: Program software engineers, team leads, and cross-program engineering staff.
  • Customer Interface: Supported teams and program customer technical leadership, as delegated.
Schedule and Environment
  • Remote position; proximity to Omitron's Colorado Springs, CO office is preferred, with on-site or hybrid presence as required for program success.
  • Work is accomplished primarily Monday through Friday during standard business hours; due to the fast-paced, agile delivery environment, work may occasionally be required outside those times.
