Job description

Sr. Project Manager, Regional Deposit Pricing
Tukwila, WA (Hourly W2; Remote)
Applicants must live in either Texas or Washington state and be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas. The employer does not have resources available to support STEM OPT training requirements. No C2C - Pivotal does not accept unsolicited applications or resumes from third-party recruiters/agencies.
Why clients choose Pivotal Consulting:
We are a technology management consulting firm helping Fortune 500 companies improve their performance - we specialize in making People, Process, and Technology work together! Our clients count on us to deliver excellence and seek our guidance on business and technology strategy, technology modernization, and cloud transformation initiatives. Simply put; by listening to our clients closely and focusing on delivering quality, we bring them peace of mind.
After guiding and helping numerous clients from global enterprises to mid-market firms to non-profit organizations, we are now experiencing breakthrough growth!
What we are looking for:
Our banking client is seeking a senior-level Project Manager with deep banking/financial services experience to lead the Deposit Regional Pricing project-a strategic initiative to enable region- and channel-based deposit pricing across both Consumer and Business lines. This capability emerged as a critical dependency during the SAFE integration effort, specifically the need to price California members differently, and is now essential to competing for deposits at a marginal cost of funds and preparing for a future national pricing strategy. The successful candidate will own this project end to end, from discovery and design through execution, and will be accountable for aligning a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders around a shared plan, timeline, and set of deliverables.
Project Success Measures
  • Increased deposit growth
  • Improved member retention
  • New member acquisition
  • Higher net interest margin
  • Improved rate competitiveness
  • Greater market share in expanded markets

Key Project Dependencies
  • Origination and core systems capable of supporting regional and channel-based pricing
  • Clear member/market segmentation
  • Dynamic rate sheets and disclosures
  • New deposit products
  • Governance and compliance approvals
  • Frontline training
  • Website capability to display region-specific pricing

What you will do:
  • Lead business discovery and requirements-gathering activities with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Define, prioritize, maintain, and govern the project backlog throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Translate business requirements into epics, features, user stories, and detailed acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement sessions, stakeholder reviews, and requirement-validation discussions.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to manage scope, dependencies, risks, assumptions, and delivery milestones.
  • Serve as the primary business liaison between internal stakeholders, technology delivery teams, and vendor partners.
  • Ensure requirements and delivered solutions align with business objectives, operational needs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support user acceptance testing, including test-scenario development, defect triage, stakeholder coordination, and validation of completed functionality.
  • Support implementation planning, readiness activities, and post-implementation stabilization as needed.
  • Maintain clear documentation of decisions, requirements, priorities, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.

What makes you a good fit:
  • Lead the project through discovery, design, and execution, developing and managing an integrated project plan, budget, schedule, and scope across all workstreams.
  • Drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders and teams-including Finance/Treasury, Deposit Products, Marketing, Digital/Web, Core/Origination Systems, Risk, Compliance, and Frontline training-to a shared timeline and set of deliverables.
  • Maintain systems dependency awareness across origination and core platforms, ensuring the technical roadmap can support regional and channel-based pricing, dynamic rate sheets, and disclosures.
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Risk to secure governance and regulatory approvals required for new deposit products and region-specific pricing and disclosures.
  • Oversee the segmentation strategy and coordinate the creation of new deposit products and dynamic rate sheets needed to support regional and channel pricing.
  • Coordinate with Digital/Web teams to ensure the website and digital channels can display and support region-specific pricing.
  • Plan and oversee frontline training and change management so branch and service teams can execute the new pricing model accurately and confidently.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating proactively with clear options and recommendations.
  • Deliver executive-ready status reporting, including progress against success measures (deposit growth, retention, member acquisition, net interest margin, rate competitiveness, and market share), to project sponsors and steering committee.

Qualifications:
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Financial services industry background.
  • Excellent core project management skills, including budget, schedule, scope, and people management.
  • Deposit product experience, or experience in a closely related banking/credit union product area.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects through the full lifecycle-discovery, design, and execution.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and executive presence.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional stakeholder alignment and team collaboration.
  • Awareness of systems dependencies and how technology constraints affect project delivery.
  • Strong focus on risk, compliance, and governance considerations.
  • Excellent, executive-ready written and verbal communication skills.
