What is a remote baggage handling system?

A Remote Baggage Handling System is a technology-driven solution used in airports to manage, sort, and transport passengers’ luggage from check-in to the aircraft, without the need for manual handling at every stage. These systems use a combination of conveyor belts, RFID scanners, and automated software to track and route bags efficiently. By operating remotely, these systems can be monitored and controlled by off-site teams, improving reliability and reducing the risk of lost luggage. They also help airports optimize space and workforce allocation, thereby enhancing operational efficiency. Remote management enables faster response to issues and better integration with other airport systems.
