This is a volunteer, part-time design leadership role focused on improving the organization's website, blog, and related digital properties.Position Lead Website Designer VolunteerLocation Remote, United StatesPosition Type Volunteer, Part-TimePosition DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced, creative Lead Website Designer Volunteer to join our Technology Team and collaborate with other departments to lead the organization's efforts to improve design, usability, functionality, and SEO across the website, ecommerce, and blog.Your Impact on Our MissionThis position is critical to our mission. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Lead the redesign of the website to improve look, usability, functionality, and SEO, including a blog componentResearch, install, and/or develop tools and plugins to optimize the website, improve customer experience, increase online engagement, and enhance aestheticsMaintain, expand, and scale the website to meet changing needsCollaborate with the Technology Team and other departments to address needs or issues and establish action plansStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them to operationsManage a team of professionals focused on website design and maintenanceMaintain operational documents and assist in developing related policies and proceduresWhat You'll Bring To The Team / Qualifications3–5 years of experience in web design/development, programming, content management, user experience, and SEOProficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, jQuery, CMS, CRM, MySQL; understanding of cross-browser and cross-device optimizationExperience with WordPressFamiliarity with web hosting setups and platforms; knowledge of web design standardsExperience with marketing/analytics platforms (e.g., Google AdWords, Google Analytics)Experience in expanding ecommerceSolid understanding of web applications, security, session management, and best development practicesExperience implementing modules/plugins for CMS modelsAbility to manage and lead projects with multiple team membersAbility to work collaboratively with a diverse teamAdobe Creative Suite experience is preferredPrior non-profit experience is preferredLocation within the 48 contiguous United States is highly preferredLocation, Availability & CommitmentsApplicants must be able to attend periodic meetings during regular business hours in the Central Standard Time (CST) zone.
