Role and Responsibilities


  • In support of modernizing and enhancing a loan origination and servicing system, we’re seeking a skilled Back End Developer with expertise in building scalable APIs and serverless applications in AWS. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with business analysts, designers and front end developers to deliver seamless user experiences in a dynamic, agile delivery environment.
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Build and maintain efficient AWS Lambda functions and event-driven architectures.
  • Integrate with AWS services such as API Gateway, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Cognito and S3.
  • Ensure backend systems are secure, performant, and scalable.
  • Implement automated testing and participate in code reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, architects, front end developers, and QA testers for cohesive solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the stack.

Minimum Qualification

  • Strong experience with Node.js or Python for backend development.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Cognito and S3.
  • Knowledge of serverless architecture and best practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (CloudFormation or Terraform or CDK).
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization (e.g. OIDC (OAuth2), JWT).
  • Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile environment.

Preferred Qualification

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. SonarQube, CloudWatch, X-Ray).
  • Experience in large scale information technology and database systems utilizing Java technologies and SQL Server.
  • Experience in developing and / or supporting loan origination and servicing systems.
