The Cloud Centre of Excellence is accountable for the delivery of modern cloud services, applications, and managed services, supporting our internal workforce as well as client delivery teams, with focus on AI and technology innovation. 

Your role will include backend development, experimenting and evaluating emerging technologies, prototyping, and developing production grade cloud-native applications for our users. You will be dividing your time between development tasks, orchestration and integration of work within the team, and all aspects of testing. 

This position can be performed remotely. 


What you will do
  • Collaborate with a highly skilled and talented group of developers. 
  • Co-design the backend Services and Data layers for our applications. 
  • Develop backend heuristics, including APIs and repositories. 
  • Collaboration with the UI/UX team for smooth integration. 
  • Co-Innovate, experiment and conduct proof of concepts (POC) leveraging cutting edge cloud and AI technologies 
  • Remain vigilant about our company’s commitment to operational excellence, enterprise readiness, security and compliance

What you bring to the role
  • A university degree (or similar) in computer science or other related discipline 
  • At least 3 years of experience with hands-on full-stack development and management 
  • Key contribution to application development projects, as a backend/full-stack expert 
  • Strong collaboration, reporting and organizational skills 
  • Expertise with JS, TS, and Node.js 
  • Expertise in API development, for both backend and frontend APIs 
  • Expertise with application data modeling, repositories, and cloud storage services 
  • Experience with performance (load), component, and unit testing 
  • Experience with container-based and serverless cloud-native architectures (e.g., Kubernetes) 
  • Experience in building SPA with React.js 
  • Experience in Git branching and source code management 

KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information

The expected base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $156,600 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
