Job Summary: AEFW3/Spring Framework 3.0.5 to Spring Boot 3.x Migration Lead Developer to spearhead the modernization of legacy Framework built on Spring Framework 3.0.5 to the latest version of Spring Boot. This role involves analysis of existing proprietary Framework codebase, architectural design for migration, hands-on development, and ensuring the successful transition to a modern, cloud-native ready architecture (Azure Cloud - private/public). Key Responsibilities: Analyze existing AEFW3 framework built on top of Spring Framework 3.0.5 to identify dependencies, configurations, and potential challenges for migration to Spring Boot. Design and implement migration strategies, including refactoring, dependency upgrades, and adoption of Spring Boot features (e.g., auto-configuration, embedded servers, starters). Develop and refactor code to align with Spring Boot best practices, including transitioning from XML-based configurations to Java-based configurations and annotations. Tiles conversion to JSP using JSP includes. Address compatibility issues related to Jakarta EE, Hibernate, Spring Security, and other third-party libraries during the migration process. Implement and optimize build tools (Maven) for Spring Boot projects. Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and adherence to coding standards. Collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure a smooth and effective modernization process. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other application teams on Spring Boot development. Document migration steps, architectural decisions, and new functionalities. Required Skills and Experience: Extensive experience with Spring Framework, particularly with legacy versions like 3.0.5, and deep understanding of its core concepts (IoC, DI, AOP). Proven experience in migrating applications from older Spring Framework versions to Spring Boot. Strong proficiency in Java, with experience in Java 17 or higher.
