Job description

Title: Azure Platform Migration SME
Industry: Healthcare
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract (3+ Months)
Project: Azure Tenant-to-Tenant Migration
Overview
*** is seeking an experienced Azure Platform Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the successful execution of a critical Azure tenant-to-tenant migration supporting a major healthcare platform transition. This is a delivery-focused role requiring an individual who can quickly assess the current Azure environment, eliminate technical roadblocks, coordinate with internal architecture teams and the infrastructure vendor (ATOS), and ensure the new Azure environment is operationally ready for production.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the migration, taking ownership of Azure platform configuration, Application Gateway implementation, identity and access management, and production readiness activities. Working closely with an internal Cloud Architect and ATOS delivery resources, this individual will ensure the migration is completed securely, system availability is maintained throughout the transition, and the organization is prepared for a successful go-live.
Employee Value Proposition
This assignment provides the opportunity to play a critical role in delivering a highly visible healthcare cloud migration that directly supports operational continuity and patient services. Your work will ensure a secure, stable, and successful transition to the organization's new Azure platform.
You will lead an enterprise Azure migration involving complex tenant-to-tenant architecture, infrastructure modernization, production readiness, and vendor coordination while working alongside senior cloud architects and infrastructure specialists.
This role is ideal for experienced Azure migration specialists who enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, leading critical production migrations, removing technical obstacles, and ensuring enterprise cloud environments are successfully delivered under aggressive timelines.
Performance Objectives
Successfully Execute the Azure Tenant-to-Tenant Migration
Within the first four weeks, lead the secure migration of Azure resources from the existing tenant into the new production Azure environment while maintaining system availability and minimizing operational disruption. Coordinate migration sequencing, validate dependencies, resolve technical issues, and ensure all platform components are migrated according to project timelines. Success will be measured through successful production cutover, minimal service disruption, successful validation testing, and achievement of project milestones. AI-assisted migration assessment and documentation tools may be utilized where appropriate while ensuring all migration activities comply with *** security and operational standards.
Establish a Secure and Operationally Ready Azure Platform
Configure and validate Azure platform services including Application Gateway, identity and access management, networking, security controls, and supporting infrastructure required for production operations. Ensure the migrated environment is fully operational, secure, and prepared to support ongoing healthcare services following go-live. Success will be measured through successful production readiness reviews, infrastructure validation, security compliance, and operational acceptance by technical leadership.
Eliminate Technical Roadblocks and Drive Delivery
Serve as the primary Azure migration expert responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues that could delay migration activities or impact production readiness. Work proactively with internal cloud architects, ATOS infrastructure teams, and project stakeholders to resolve dependencies and maintain delivery momentum. Success will be measured through timely issue resolution, reduced project risk, successful stakeholder collaboration, and achievement of migration timelines.
Coordinate Technical Delivery Across Internal and Vendor Teams
Provide technical leadership throughout the migration by coordinating activities across *** infrastructure teams, ATOS delivery resources, and cloud architecture stakeholders. Ensure technical decisions, implementation activities, testing, documentation, and operational readiness remain aligned with project objectives and healthcare operational requirements. Success will be measured through stakeholder satisfaction, effective communication, successful coordination, and overall project delivery.
Subtasks
Assess the Existing Azure Environment
Review the current Azure tenant architecture, networking, security configuration, application dependencies, and migration readiness while identifying technical risks and required remediation activities before migration execution.
Configure Azure Platform Components
Implement and validate Azure platform services including Application Gateway, networking, identity management, security controls, and infrastructure components necessary to support the new production environment.
Execute the Tenant-to-Tenant Migration
Lead the migration of Azure resources while validating service availability, resolving migration issues, monitoring production stability, and ensuring successful completion of all migration activities according to the implementation plan.
Support Production Readiness and Go-Live Activities
Coordinate production validation, operational readiness reviews, testing, cutover activities, rollback planning, and post-migration stabilization to ensure successful transition into the new Azure environment.
Partner with Internal and External Technical Teams
Work closely with *** Cloud Architects, ATOS infrastructure engineers, application owners, and project leadership to coordinate technical decisions, resolve issues, and maintain project alignment throughout the engagement.
Document the Azure Migration Environment
Develop and maintain technical documentation covering migration activities, Azure configurations, Application Gateway implementation, operational procedures, known issues, and production support recommendations to facilitate long-term platform management.
Continuously Evaluate and Integrate AI to Improve Performance
Throughout the engagement, identify opportunities to leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate Azure configuration analysis, migration planning, documentation, infrastructure validation, operational monitoring, and troubleshooting while maintaining appropriate governance and technical oversight. Success will be measured through improved delivery efficiency, faster issue resolution, enhanced documentation quality, and responsible adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices.
Required Experience
  • Proven experience leading Azure tenant-to-tenant migrations.
  • Deep expertise in Azure platform architecture and infrastructure services.
  • Hands-on experience configuring Azure Application Gateway.
  • Strong Azure identity, networking, security, and access management experience.
  • Experience supporting production cloud migrations with minimal downtime.
  • Ability to identify and remove technical roadblocks in complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience coordinating delivery across internal technical teams and infrastructure vendors.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with architects, project managers, and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Azure certifications focused on cloud architecture or cloud migration.
  • Healthcare or regulated industry experience.
  • Experience working alongside managed service providers such as ATOS.
  • Experience supporting critical production go-live events.

Definition of Success
By the conclusion of the engagement, the Azure tenant-to-tenant migration has been successfully completed with minimal operational disruption, the new Azure platform is fully secure and operationally ready, Application Gateway and supporting Azure services are functioning as designed, technical roadblocks have been resolved, and *** leadership has confidence in the stability and long-term supportability of the new cloud environment.
