Job description

Quality Engineering Lead

2Bridge has been engaged in the search for a Quality Engineering Lead supporting a technology-focused organization operating in performance-sensitive environments. This role blends hands-on technical ownership with people leadership, with a mandate to elevate quality standards across a complex backend platform.

This role offers a flexible hybrid or remote work model. Target compensation is $180,000–$225,000 plus bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, paid time off, flexible working arrangements, and a discretionary performance-based bonus.

The Opportunity

  1. Own quality strategy across a critical, production-grade platform
  2. Balance hands-on technical contribution with team leadership responsibilities
  3. Influence engineering standards in a high-ownership environment

What You’ll Do

  1. Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of quality engineers
  2. Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for backend services and APIs
  3. Write and review production-quality test code and automation infrastructure
  4. Partner closely with engineering and product teams on test strategy and release readiness
  5. Drive QA hiring efforts and help scale the function

What We’re Looking For

  1. 5+ years in QA automation or software engineering with hands-on coding responsibility
  2. Direct people management experience in a QA or engineering context
  3. Strong programming skills in Java or C#; exceptional Python candidates considered
  4. Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from the ground up
  5. Exposure to performance-sensitive or distributed systems; FIX protocol experience is a plus

Why This Role Is Interesting

  1. Rare opportunity to combine deep technical work with growing leadership scope
  2. Direct influence over quality practices in a performance-driven environment
  3. Meaningful ownership rather than pure oversight

The hiring organization is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
