FlightAware is searching for an enthusiastic, passionate, and results-driven Software Engineer to build the next generation of FlightAware’s website on our Applications crew. In this full stack role, you will make significant contributions to our offerings to help re-imagine what our website and web applications can be, all while working with a variety of exciting new technologies.

What You Will Do:

  • Create robust and scalable website features that showcase our world-class data for end users.
  • Build and maintain reusable UI components across our products.
  • Detect issues, identify their root causes, develop fixes, and design auditing to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance products from the API to the front end.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
  • Development experience with at least one back end focused language.
  • Development experience with at least one front end focused language.
  • Development experience with at least one front end framework like React, Angular, or Vue.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • You write excellent, well-documented, and highly testable code.
  • Experience building, scaling, and maintaining production web or SaaS applications.
  • Development experience with TypeScript or modern JavaScript.
  • Development experience with Python, Golang, or Rust.
  • Experience with containerization.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
