The Field Service Technician II is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment at customer sites. They ensure timely and efficient service delivery, troubleshoot technical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and provide customer training and support as needed.
This position reports to the Regional Field Service Manager (RFSM) and is part of the Canadian Field Service Team, to be located in Montreal, Ontario and working REMOTELY to cover primarily the province of Quebec and others as required.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Provide technical service including installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and refrigeration instruments,
- Ensure operational compliance and communication by documenting service activities per Health Canada, FDA, and Leica policies, and maintaining timely communication with internal teams and external customers to meet expectations.
- Demonstrate professionalism and continuous development by expanding product and application knowledge, representing the company with integrity, and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Associate degree, college diploma, or undergraduate degree inElectronics, Mechanical, or Robotics Engineering.
- 2+ years of hands-on experiencein repairing and maintaining electronic, electro-mechanical, or refrigeration instruments.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- This position requires up to 80% flying and/or driving travel, which includes overnight stays. Travel will primarily be domestic but may occasionally be international.
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise and/or place up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk (prolonged), and sit; squat and kneel, ascend and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Prior roles inregulated laboratory environments,medical device servicing, orhospital-based technical supportprovide strong foundational skills.
- Experience as aBiomedical Engineeris considered a significant asset due to the overlap in technical expertise and customer-facing service delivery
