Title: API Governance Business Systems Analyst
Location: Remote, able to work EST business hours

Position: 6-month Contract w/possible extension and/or Contract to Hire

Type: W2 only, No C2C or H1B sponsorship available

Overview: API Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with a strong understanding of API governance, program management, and experience working at the intersection of business and technology. This is a highly strategic and autonomous role supporting Engineering Excellence team, with a focus on building out cross-cutting engineering programs, including open-source tooling and enterprise API governance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary liaison between architecture, security, product teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Support the design and evolution of API governance frameworks and processes.
  • Partner with change management teams to build forms and workflows that capture essential API metadata
  • Conduct extensive research and investigation across internal teams and industry standards to inform governance practices.
  • Develop and document repeatable processes that are clearly understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Lead or assist in the creation of materials; Tech Talk slide decks, visual workflows to educate and align stakeholders.
  • Provide program-level tracking and support across 3–4 key initiatives simultaneously.
  • Contribute to the build-out of a newly formed Open Source Office, including frameworks for responsible usage and contributions.
  • Regular weekly check-ins; otherwise, a self-directed and high trust work environment.
  • Communication expectations include regular updates and openness to feedback or iteration as the program evolves.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2 - 4 years' experience as a Business Systems Analyst - API with business and technical fluencies.
  • Strong understanding of APIs (REST, SOAP, metadata) and API governance frameworks.
  • Working with technology and business domains in highly matrixed environments.
  • Able to self-managed, proactively pushing work forward with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written, to work with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Managing multiple workstreams and collaborating asynchronously across teams.
  • Research-focused mindset and independently identify the right stakeholders and industry standards.
  • Strong documentation and presentation development skills; ie: slide decks, process maps, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Banking industry experience or highly regulated industry.
  • Tooling and processes related to Open-Source Office initiatives.
  • Program tracking, strategy alignment, and multi-stream planning.
  • Engineering excellence frameworks, or open-source contribution strategies.
  • Working with Scrum teams or agile environment.
