Job description

Our Embedded Platform contains the RTOS, drivers, standard / common services, and basic functionality that all our ECUs need to function within our next generation vehicle.

This team is responsible for performing initial development on each ECU, and for developing the common libraries and services that are used across all ECUs.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Embedded Platform Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded development supporting complex, distributed, safety-critical embedded systems.

ย ย ย ย Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
ย ย ย ย 5+years ofrelevant experience in embedded software development using C
ย ย ย ย Experience with bare metal and RTOS software development including bringup
ย ย ย ย Experience with JIRA and Confluence
ย ย ย ย Experience with git.
ย ย ย ย Experience with build systems such as make and bazel
ย ย ย ย Experience with scripting languages such as python or bash.
ย ย ย ย Knowledge ofelectrical engineering fundamentals including circuit analysis and design
ย ย ย ย Excellent communication skills

ย ย ย ย Specify requirements, design, implement, and test both bare metal and RTOS low-level software for creating a scalable platform.
ย ย ย ย Develop multicore, time / safety critical software architectures.
ย ย ย ย Work with/resolve ambiguity in requirements/specifications/designs.
ย ย ย ย Create elegant, efficient real-time software components and interfaces.
ย ย ย ย Develop software component testing methodologies and implementations to ensure maturity/stability/release readiness.
ย ย ย ย Work with hardware and debuggers at a bench and HIL level to verify software operation.
ย ย ย ย Define system-level power / compute / communication requirements and implement solutions that allow different applications to achieve different combinations of configurations.
ย ย ย ย Profile power / CPU / bus usage and identify opportunities for optimization on the submodule as well as system level.
ย ย ย ย Develop comprehensive test plans and perform thorough testing to validate firmware functionality, stability, and performance under various conditions, including low power modes.
