Their duties typically include managing accounting processes, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and providing financial analysis to support business decisions. With advancements in technology, remote controllers can access dealership management systems and financial data securely from any location. This role helps dealerships maintain accurate financial records and optimize profitability without requiring a full-time, on-site controller.

To succeed as a Remote Automotive Controller, you need a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and automotive dealership operations, generally backed by a degree in accounting or finance and relevant work experience. Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) like Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK Global, as well as proficiency in Excel and financial reporting software, is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills set top performers apart, especially when collaborating remotely across departments.
