Job description

The Insurance Producer will sell Property & Casualty insurance for commercial and personal lines and will have the ability to write Life products. This hybrid role is based in the Birmingham area and combines local office presence with remote work as required. The Producer will work with the agent to develop prospecting strategies, identify target markets, and execute sales techniques aligned with the agency’s goals. This role is base ($35,000-$45,000/year) plus bonus.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to retain and grow the agency’s book of business.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and targeted outreach.
  • Provide consultative insurance recommendations across Auto, Home, Life, Accident & Health, and Commercial lines based on client needs.
  • Collaborate with the agent on market analysis, target lists, and sales plans to meet production goals.
  • Manage co-brokerage relationships to support favorable financial performance and high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Manage carrier relationships and recommend appropriate carriers and products as markets and client needs evolve.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate client records and quotes using the agency CRM; ensure timely follow-up and policy documentation.
  • Support marketing and outreach efforts by contributing to the creation of client-facing materials and community engagement activities.
  • Assist clients with policy servicing, endorsements, renewals, and claims coordination to ensure a high-quality service experience.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, district-led training, and mentorship to advance technical and sales capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Required: Ability to obtain Alabama insurance Producer licenses for Property & Casualty and Life & Health; agency will support licensing efforts.
  • P&C and Life and Health Insurance Producer license or previous licensure is preferred.
  • Relevant insurance experience preferred; candidates with 3+ years of insurance or related sales/service experience will be given priority. Applicants with strong transferable skills and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, professional demeanor, and a commitment to client-focused service.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and coachable with a willingness to participate in training and mentorship programs.
