Job description

**Must be located in Cleveland, Ohio or surrounding area**
Summary: This position is responsible for investigating, evaluating and negotiating settlement of assigned property claims with the goal of serving the customer and ensuring quality file handling.
What You'll Be Doing:
  1. Responds on short notice and for extended periods to CAT deployment directive which may include weekends.
  2. Travels to catastrophe areas to evaluate, negotiate and settle personal and commercial property claims resulting from natural disasters in various geographic locations.
  3. Perform onsite and virtual inspection of damages to resolve coverage and damage issues to include preparing complete estimates of repair for the covered damages.
  4. Pursuant to line of business strategies and good faith claim practices: document all claim activity to support the claim file, including working with SIU and Subrogation partners.
  5. Create a high level of policyholder satisfaction by complying with established service standards.
  6. Investigate and evaluate onsite to resolve complex coverage and damage issues to include preparing complete estimates of repair for the covered damages.
  7. Explain coverage of loss, assists policyholders with itemization of damages, emergency repairs and additional living arrangements.
  8. Works with and may coordinate a number of vendor services such as contractors, emergency repair, cleaning services and experts.
  9. Responds to inquiries from policyholders, agents, internal partners and others.
  10. Contribute to a positive work environment by positively influencing others, striving for high performance results with a "can do" attitude. Exhibit accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun.
  11. Mentor members of Inside and Field Property Team and Expandable CAT Team.
  12. During periods of non-Catastrophe, provide assistance with complex losses as needed, to include both personal lines and commercial lines claims.
  13. Provide technical support to the Catastrophe Claims team members with regards to Property claims handling, claim handling time management, and claim skill development.
  14. Operates and maintains company vehicle.
  15. This position requires the individual to access and inspect all areas of a building or structure which is physically demanding requiring the ability to carry, set up and climb a ladder. Must be able to safely lift up to 40 lbs., walk on roofs, and enter tight spaces (such as attic staircases and entries, crawl spaces, etc.).
  16. Requires extensive overnight travel +50% of time and must be located in the Cleveland, Ohio or surrounding area.

What You'll Bring To The Company:
High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 years field property claims handling experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Must possess strong communication and organization skills and proficient with personal computer. Should be proficient in property estimating and damages. Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and agents in a professional manner. Valid driver's license and good driving record required. Must be able to travel upon immediate notice. State specific adjusters' license may be required.
