Now Hiring: Lead Mechanic — Texas Auto Center (Houston, TX)

Full-Time | $25–$35/hr (DOE) | On-Site Location: 5609 Bellaire Blvd, Suite B, Houston, TX 77081

Texas Auto Center is a busy body and mechanic shop in Southwest Houston, and we're looking for an experienced Lead Mechanic to take the reins of our service bay. Our previous lead just moved on, and we need someone who can step in, run the work confidently, and help us grow.

If you're an ASE-certified tech who knows their way around modern vehicles — including hybrids and EVs — we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do

  • Perform accurate diagnostics across all makes and models
  • Handle suspension, engine, and electrical repairs from start to finish
  • Service and repair hybrid and electric vehicles safely and to spec
  • Lead the day-to-day flow of the mechanical side of the shop
  • Communicate clearly with the service writer and shop owner on job status
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

What We're Looking For

  • Proven hands-on experience as a lead or senior-level mechanic
  • Strong skills in diagnostics, suspension, engine, and electrical work
  • Experience servicing hybrids and EVs across multiple manufacturers
  • ASE certification (or equivalent industry certification) required
  • Your own basic tools (shop provides specialty equipment)
  • Reliable, professional, and able to work in a fast-paced shop

Bonus / Plus

  • ADAS calibration experience — a big plus, not required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Prior experience in a combined body + mechanical shop
