Job description

Position Overview
The Production Systems Engineer will have a very strong technical background in the Audio Visual Industry with an expert level skill set and experience in a specific discipline such as Audio, Video, or Lighting; this position must be the subject matter expert for their discipline. Manages all aspects of that discipline as it pertains to event pre-planning, on-site management, equipment maintenance and post show activities. Must have the ability to operate/trouble-shoot high-end equipment and have familiarity with major brands of audiovisual systems and components in a large venue situation. The Systems Engineer will be the key resource of information for the Project Manager(s) and team; will interface with the warehouse leads helping to design systems; and be the product manager for large venue systems. Position reports Director, Production.
Key Job Responsibilities
Event Pre-planning
• Partner with the Project Manager, Account Manager, Creative, Sales Team and end client to design, pre-plan and manage all aspects of their expertise or discipline.
• Complete necessary technical drawings, production plans, labor needs, budgets, equipment selection in R2, and interfacing with Mgr, Inventory Control & Systems, the warehouse leads, and sub rentals.
• Assist and support the other PGE Departments as necessary by making recommendations on technology, processes, and methodologies.
On-site Management/Operation
• Manages their discipline meets or exceeds the client's needs by managing the production plan, budget, and Encore production/safety standards.
• Set and properly test technical components.
• Operate designated equipment for the event, as needed.
• Provides leadership to their assigned crew; such as: A2, V2, Master Electrician, Projectionist, and local union labor.
Post-show Management
• Responsible for post-show management to include: final labor, time sheets, expenses, sub rentals, and any equipment maintenance needs.
• Complete reporting information and feedback from team to the Project Manager(s) for the post show jot form to document for client's future events.
Customer Service
• Provides excellent service and strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
• Meets with clients on site as necessary to ensure that their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly.
Job Qualifications
• BA/BS Degreed or equivalent experience
5+ years of live large venue audio visual
5+ years of knowledge of Audio Visual and expert level technical skill set in a discipline AUDIO
• 2+ years crew lead experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent organization skills
• Advanced problem solving skills
• Strong written and oral communications skills
• Ability to travel up to 75%

Work Environment
Hotel
Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will use high-end audio visual equipment and electrical components, and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Team members may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations. Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based on an individual hotel or a representation of hotels in that city or area.
Office
Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.
