Job description

We are a high-volume consumer bankruptcy firm focused on helping individuals and families obtain real financial relief through Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy. 

We are seeking a motivated bankruptcy attorney who can confidently manage cases from filing through discharge, represent debtors at hearings, and handle contested matters when necessary.

Position Overview

This attorney will manage a docket of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases, appear at §341 meetings and court hearings, respond to trustee and creditor inquiries. The ideal candidate is organized, confident in federal practice, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions

  • Conduct petition review meetings with clients

  • Appear at §341 meetings and confirmation hearings

  • Respond to trustee objections and deficiency notices

  • Draft and respond to motions (stay relief, dismissal, conversion, etc.)

  • Handle contested matters

  • Advise clients 

  • Work collaboratively with paralegals and intake staff to move cases efficiently from intake to discharge

  • Maintain compliance with all federal and local bankruptcy rules

Qualifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with federal district courts

  • Courtroom experience and comfort appearing before trustees and judges

  • Strong understanding of Chapters 7 and 13

  • Ability to manage a high-volume docket

  • Detail-oriented and organized

  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience using bankruptcy software (e.g., Jubilee, BKPacket, etc.)

  • 1+ years of bankruptcy experience preferred (consumer experience strongly preferred)

  • Familiarity with local trustee practices in the Northern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas
