Role Description
Our growing and well-established civil defense litigation practice is seeking a highly experienced Senior Associate Attorney to join our team. This position offers the flexibility of a remote or hybrid work arrangement while handling sophisticated civil defense matters for respected insurance carriers and self-insured clients
We are looking for an attorney who is confident managing a litigation docket independently and who has substantial experience defending premises liability and automobile liability claims in New York.
What You'll Do
Independently manage a full caseload from inception through trial.
Defend complex premises liability and automobile liability matters in New York courts.
Conduct depositions, prepare and argue motions, oversee discovery, and attend court conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Evaluate liability and damages, develop litigation strategy, and provide timely reporting to clients.
Work collaboratively with partners while maintaining primary responsibility for your files
Qualifications
Active admission to the New York Bar is required.
Significant experience in civil defense litigation, with a strong emphasis on premises liability and automobile claims.
Admission to the New Jersey Bar or meaningful New Jersey litigation experience is a strong plus. This full-time remote Attorney role involves providing legal counsel and representation to clients, with a focus on labor and employment matters and related areas of law. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, analyzing case law and statutes, drafting and reviewing contracts, policies, pleadings, and other legal documents, and preparing legal opinions and memoranda
The Attorney will advise clients on legal rights and obligations, handle negotiations and settlement discussions, and may participate in administrative proceedings or litigation as needed. Collaboration with colleagues, timely communication with clients, and adherence to professional and ethical standards are essential, as is effective practice management in a remote work environment.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Law, with demonstrated experience providing Legal Advice to clients.
Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, including relevant regulations, case law, and best practices.
Proficiency in legal Research, including analysis of statutes, regulations, and case precedents.
Effective Negotiation skills for resolving disputes, drafting agreements, and managing settlements.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear drafting and client communication.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple matters, and meet deadlines.
Strong judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to professional ethics and confidentiality.
Prior experience in a law firm or in-house environment handling employment-related matters is preferred
