How much do remote attorney jobs pay per year?
What is a Remote Attorney job?
A Remote Attorney is a licensed legal professional who provides legal services, advice, and representation while working outside a traditional office setting. They may work for law firms, corporations, government agencies, or as independent contractors. Remote Attorneys handle tasks such as legal research, drafting contracts, litigation support, and client consultations using digital communication tools. This role allows for flexibility in work location while maintaining the same ethical and professional responsibilities as in-office attorneys.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Attorney position, and why are they important?
A Remote Attorney must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, active bar membership, strong legal research skills, and proficiency in drafting and analyzing legal documents. Familiarity with legal practice management software, secure document sharing platforms, and e-filing systems is often essential. Excellent time management, self-motivation, and clear virtual communication skills help remote attorneys excel when collaborating with clients and legal teams remotely. These abilities are crucial for delivering high-quality legal services efficiently and maintaining compliance while working in a remote environment.
What challenges might I encounter working as a Remote Attorney, and how can I address them?
One common challenge for Remote Attorneys is maintaining effective communication and collaboration with clients and colleagues without face-to-face meetings. To overcome this, it’s important to master video conferencing tools, maintain regular check-ins, and have clear protocols for document sharing and feedback. Staying organized and self-disciplined is key to managing caseloads and meeting deadlines from a home office. With intentional strategies and digital tools, remote attorneys can remain highly productive and deliver excellent service despite physical distance.

Job description
Location: Remote (Must reside within commutable distance to Georgia courts for appearances)
Compensation: Competitive; commensurate with experience
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, growth-oriented insurance defense firm seeking an experienced Litigation Partner to help lead its Georgia practice. This is a senior-level role designed for an attorney who excels in strategy, oversight, mentorship, and client leadership, rather than day-to-day case handling.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience defending insurance defense litigation and has extensive experience in general liability or personal injury insurance defense. The right candidate enjoys guiding litigation strategy, supporting attorney development, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients and insurers.
The RoleAs a Partner, you will play a key leadership role within the litigation team, providing high-level oversight of complex matters while helping maintain strong, long-term client relationships. You'll collaborate closely with associates and senior attorneys, ensure litigation quality standards are met, and step in as needed on high-impact cases.
This role offers the flexibility of a remote-first environment while remaining actively engaged in Georgia court appearances when required.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic oversight and direction on complex insurance defense litigation matters
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, carriers, and stakeholders
Review pleadings, motion practice, and litigation strategy to ensure quality and consistency
Mentor and develop junior and senior attorneys through guidance and feedback
Support firm leadership by maintaining high professional and performance standards
Step into matters as needed to ensure effective outcomes
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active admission to the Georgia Bar (in good standing)
7-10 years of litigation experience within insurance defense
Extensive experience in general liability or personal injury insurance defense
Prior experience working within an insurance defense law firm
Proven leadership, mentorship, or supervisory experience
Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
Ability to think strategically and manage complex litigation portfolios
Experience guiding associates and contributing to firm growth
Senior leadership role with meaningful influence over litigation strategy
Opportunity to mentor attorneys and shape a growing practice
Remote-first flexibility with structured court involvement
Stable, sophisticated caseload with long-term client relationships
Clear runway for continued leadership and professional impact
