Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Timeless Counseling Center, a premier mental health facility located in Austin, Texas. This full-time, remote position is ideal for a professional eager to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals and families by providing exceptional mental health care. You will play a crucial role in conducting mental health evaluations, developing treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client, and facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions.

About the Organization

Timeless Counseling Center is committed to offering top-quality mental health services that prioritize the needs of our clients. We specialize in a wide range of therapeutic approaches, fostering an accessible environment where individuals can explore their mental well-being without the constraints of a traditional office setting. Our team is comprised of experienced professionals dedicated to continual improvement and offering evidence-based practices that reflect the latest research in mental health care.

Work Environment

This position allows you to work remotely, providing flexibility while ensuring that you remain connected with both clients and colleagues. At Timeless Counseling Center, we promote a collaborative and supportive environment, emphasizing team communication and shared goals in improving client outcomes. Our outpatient office setting underscores our commitment to giving clients the tools they need for a healthier mental state while allowing staff the liberty to create a balanced work-life experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments through preliminary interviews, documenting client cases from the initial consultation through to treatment conclusion, thereby ensuring a holistic understanding of each individual's needs.
  • Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, using validated screening tools and personal interviews to develop accurate diagnoses and intervention plans.
  • Create, implement, and monitor personalized treatment plans that cater to the needs of individuals, couples, families, or groups requiring specialized therapeutic interventions.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based methods which may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness strategies, and trauma-informed care.
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of treatment plans, maintaining meticulous records of client progress and adapting interventions as necessary based on therapeutic outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team that may include other mental health professionals, primary care physicians, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Follow up with healthcare providers for clients who have been hospitalized to ensure continuity of care and effective transition back into outpatient treatment.
  • Identify potential barriers to recovery and proactively work with clients and families to mitigate these challenges, promoting healthier coping mechanisms.
  • Engage and support family members and caregivers, offering guidance in understanding and managing the mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At Timeless Counseling Center, our diverse client base includes individuals facing various mental health challenges, ranging from anxiety and depression to trauma and substance use disorders. You will be instrumental in addressing these needs with sensitivity and expertise while fostering trust and rapport in a virtual therapy setting. Our ideal candidate is someone who can navigate complex patient backgrounds and work diligently towards improving their mental resilience and overall quality of life.

Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong understanding of, and commitment to, mental health best practices designed by professional associations, including the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective documentation and client interactions.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating a solid clinical background and an understanding of diverse therapeutic modalities.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of patient documentation.
  • Experience addressing co-occurring physical health conditions and mental health disorders, especially in clients with addiction issues.
  • Knowledge of the interactions and side effects of medications typically prescribed for mental health treatments, ensuring informed discussions with clients about their care.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that foster a supportive client-therapist relationship, combined with a genuine, empathetic approach to therapy.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between USD 80,000 and 100,000 annually, with the opportunity for a sign-on bonus. Our organization also offers a comprehensive healthcare benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with a retirement savings plan featuring employer contributions. We believe in investing in our team and provide generous paid time off (PTO), holiday pay, and support for ongoing professional development through various continuing education opportunities.
